R. 6818</legis-num><current-chamber>IN THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES</current-chamber><action display="yes"><action-date date="20220222">February 22, 2022</action-date><action-desc><sponsor name-id="R000515">Mr. Rush</sponsor> introduced the following bill; which was referred to the <committee-name committee-id="HGO00">Committee on Oversight and Reform</committee-name></action-desc></action><legis-type>A BILL</legis-type><official-title display="yes">To amend the Civil Rights Cold Case Records Collection Act of 2018 to extend the termination date of the Civil Rights Cold Case Records Review Board.</official-title></form><legis-body id="HF647BC13C6204BDC8F6EECBDA61DF60A" style="OLC"><section id="H013FA91786124B53873FEF3A53B52BDE" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the <quote><short-title>Civil Rights Cold Case Investigations Support Act of 2022</short-title></quote>.</text></section><section id="H87491ADF5134489FBBFB1D946DF21920"><enum>2.</enum><header>Civil Rights Cold Case Records Review Board extension of tenure</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">Section 5(n)(1) of Civil Rights Cold Case Records Collection Act of 2018 (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/44/2107">44 U.S.C. 2107</external-xref> note; <external-xref legal-doc="public-law" parsable-cite="pl/115/426">Public Law 115–426</external-xref>) is amended—</text><paragraph id="HBB9B7CCDA08F499C8B5B65D749AC7F33"><enum>(1)</enum><text>by striking <quote>4 years</quote> and inserting <quote>7 years</quote>; and</text></paragraph><paragraph id="H3E8A05BB19F64A0F82AFC177C5C17F02"><enum>(2)</enum><text>by striking <quote>4-year period</quote> and inserting <quote>7-year period</quote>.</text></paragraph></section></legis-body></bill>
