Parker House in Ripley, Ohio, as a unit of the National Park System.</official-title></form><legis-body id="H05CB70C3CC7C4A4786319AFA2BF2A902" style="OLC"><section id="HE874442BB9F24C72A8F12F54F04D9F0D" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the <quote><short-title>John P. Parker House Study Act</short-title></quote>.</text></section><section id="H552FA6C6E52847D98DFC811BABBA1137"><enum>2.</enum><header>Definitions</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">In this Act:</text><paragraph id="H00BC1DE620DA46179770E286BE63702E"><enum>(1)</enum><header>Secretary</header><text>The term <quote>Secretary</quote> means the Secretary of the Interior.</text></paragraph><paragraph id="HB49D66E1CB2C4761963C4A6D8A0A0BD7"><enum>(2)</enum><header>Study area</header><text>The term <quote>study area</quote> means the John P. Parker House in Ripley, Ohio, which was recognized as a National Historic Landmark in 1997.</text></paragraph></section><section id="H1C66764F932C4E62AC04A3D587BCE5F0"><enum>3.</enum><header>Special resource study of the john p. parker house</header><subsection id="HB6E9A0F7D8F148B086F1A6912DB959EB"><enum>(a)</enum><header>Study</header><text>The Secretary shall conduct a special resource study of the study area.</text></subsection><subsection id="H4B3A8BEA54844805919DD3C0F1DAD2E0"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Contents</header><text>In conducting the study under subsection (a), the Secretary shall—</text><paragraph id="H5548B83E716842F280DC2D25E9445E6F"><enum>(1)</enum><text>evaluate the national significance of the study area;</text></paragraph><paragraph id="HBCF8C05900514C319A605A23B08E7A0D"><enum>(2)</enum><text>determine the suitability and feasibility of designating the study area as a unit of the National Park System;</text></paragraph><paragraph id="HA96C5DA0759F4429892A16373CB66DC6"><enum>(3)</enum><text>consider other alternatives for preservation, protection, and interpretation of the study area by the Federal Government, State or local government entities, or private and nonprofit organizations;</text></paragraph><paragraph id="H1215BF8F10E844E8ABB322094B2B5E12"><enum>(4)</enum><text>consult with interested Federal agencies, State or local governmental entities, private and nonprofit organizations, or any other interested individuals; and</text></paragraph><paragraph id="H2FB7C5E90E014E418522EA982E5D3837"><enum>(5)</enum><text>identify cost estimates for any Federal acquisition, development, interpretation, operation, and maintenance associated with the alternatives.</text></paragraph></subsection><subsection id="HDE427534AFDA43F8A4F68C2CD11A6913"><enum>(c)</enum><header>Applicable law</header><text>The study required under subsection (a) shall be conducted in accordance with section 100507 of title 54, United States Code.</text></subsection><subsection id="H77CAC86C73AA4EB6BB391B12AF18EADE"><enum>(d)</enum><header>Report</header><text>Not later than 18 months after the date on which funds are made available to carry out this Act, the Secretary shall submit to the Committee on Natural Resources of the House of Representatives and the Committee on Energy and Natural Resources of the Senate a report that describes—</text><paragraph id="H9224F09890E946E481287BAC2749F664"><enum>(1)</enum><text>the results of the study; and</text></paragraph><paragraph id="H97A46C4172024308A4F063CDAF07BE41"><enum>(2)</enum><text>any recommendations of the Secretary.</text></paragraph></subsection></section></legis-body></bill>
