R. 6739</legis-num><current-chamber>IN THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES</current-chamber><action display="yes"><action-date date="20220215">February 15, 2022</action-date><action-desc><sponsor name-id="L000569">Mr. Luetkemeyer</sponsor> (for himself, <cosponsor name-id="H001072">Mr. Hill</cosponsor>, and <cosponsor name-id="W000816">Mr. Williams of Texas</cosponsor>) introduced the following bill; which was referred to the <committee-name committee-id="HBA00">Committee on Financial Services</committee-name></action-desc></action><legis-type>A BILL</legis-type><official-title display="yes">To require the Bureau of Consumer Financial Protection to issue a rule before deleting or modifying certain small business loan data, and for other purposes.</official-title></form><legis-body id="HFF005747F78144DA9150CD4418BA8492" style="OLC"><section id="HA9918A487E624ED3AE2FF27C8692B399" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Rulemaking requirement</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">Section 704B(e)(4) of Equal Credit Opportunity Act (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/15/1691c-2">15 U.S.C. 1691c–2(e)(4)</external-xref>) is amended—</text><paragraph id="HBE781824DC0B4713A198B306AB41BA4C"><enum>(1)</enum><text>by striking <quote>The Bureau may,</quote> and inserting:</text><quoted-block style="OLC" id="H97E3C87B54CF434A937482ABCF75E252" display-inline="no-display-inline"><subparagraph id="H3B06B40541504B52B4CFE0BFBAE55510"><enum>(A)</enum><header>In general</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">The Bureau may,</text></subparagraph><after-quoted-block>; and</after-quoted-block></quoted-block></paragraph><paragraph id="H482A6BE9101A4D508B7420B67021F705"><enum>(2)</enum><text>by adding at the end the following:</text><quoted-block style="OLC" id="H41DD4F4D8AF2409FB9A148D95B25A7D3" display-inline="no-display-inline"><subparagraph id="H60838F00DFF74C80B44E36C505DF204A"><enum>(B)</enum><header>Rulemaking requirement</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">The Bureau shall, before deleting or modifying data under this paragraph issue, through advance notice and comment, a rule that includes a description of what modifications and deletions the Bureau intends to make to the data and how such modifications and deletions will advance a privacy interest. </text></subparagraph><after-quoted-block>.</after-quoted-block></quoted-block></paragraph></section></legis-body></bill>
