R. 6664</legis-num><current-chamber>IN THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES</current-chamber><action display="yes"><action-date date="20220209">February 9, 2022</action-date><action-desc><sponsor name-id="B001309">Mr. Burchett</sponsor> (for himself, <cosponsor name-id="C001068">Mr. Cohen</cosponsor>, and <cosponsor name-id="G000590">Mr. Green of Tennessee</cosponsor>) introduced the following bill; which was referred to the <committee-name committee-id="HPW00">Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure</committee-name></action-desc></action><legis-type>A BILL</legis-type><official-title display="yes">To require certain meetings of the Tennessee Valley Authority to be transparent and open to the public, and for other purposes.</official-title></form><legis-body id="HBEA4C9E0FA0249C3B13896C6010D83AF" style="OLC"><section id="H3BB58C6ED8D2405094050AFDB9F37ECA" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the <quote><short-title>Tennessee Valley Authority Transparency Act of 2022</short-title></quote>.</text></section><section id="H3FA9F0BAA81E47C1AF41225FE4453AA1"><enum>2.</enum><header>Transparency and availability of meetings</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">Section 2(g)(2) of the Tennessee Valley Authority Act of 1933 is amended to read as follows:</text><quoted-block display-inline="no-display-inline" id="H3E876BC00D314F95AC8F3CAE7F459674" style="OLC"><paragraph id="HAABA3E5070774E5CAD6E304232A82932"><enum>(2)</enum><header>Meetings</header><subparagraph id="H4797F7BFBD8C43D789E3468E7D3DD280"><enum>(A)</enum><header>In general</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">The Board shall meet at least 4 times each year.</text></subparagraph><subparagraph id="HCE052026A39D4C82A6994C3F858DF5AC"><enum>(B)</enum><header>Transparency</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">The Board shall, with respect to any meeting of the Board, a committee of the Board, or a subcommittee of the Board for which a vote is not scheduled—</text><clause id="H4A3976BC32B84A16A4B26659839001F6"><enum>(i)</enum><text>hold such meeting in public;</text></clause><clause id="H012ED163B4844E3DB64745D94A855729"><enum>(ii)</enum><text>provide public notice of no fewer than 6 calendar days, through the website of the Board, of any such meeting; and</text></clause><clause id="H9D220238CFDC4B7B8C63E481D18FF648"><enum>(iii)</enum><text>make publicly available the minutes and summaries of any such meeting.</text></clause></subparagraph><subparagraph id="H9DCCC60932C846448900FA12D0112438"><enum>(C)</enum><header>Emergency meetings</header><text>Subparagraph (B)(ii) shall not apply if the chairman of the Board designates a meeting as an emergency special meeting.</text></subparagraph></paragraph><after-quoted-block>.</after-quoted-block></quoted-block></section></legis-body></bill>
