<official-title display="yes">To prohibit the use of Federal funds to require any officer or employee of U.S. Customs and Border Protection to receive a COVID–19 vaccination, and for other purposes.</official-title>

<section id="H463AFBB9912A4C8D9D8E4E77137A3684" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title; finding</header>
<subsection id="H3F5ADE7C424148248F168E22C7BAAC68"><enum>(a)</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the <quote><short-title>Border Agents Stay Employed Act</short-title></quote> or the <quote><short-title>BASE Act</short-title></quote>.</text></subsection> <subsection id="H85CE90630D6947349B26D768A0DC777C" commented="no"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Finding</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Congress finds that allowing for alternatives to the COVID–19 vaccination, such as regular testing and the wearing of masks, would allow U.S. Customs and Border Protection to retain more of its critical workforce. </text></subsection></section>
<section id="H1E8EC84DD2004A62871CFF549FACCD63"><enum>2.</enum><header>Limitation on mandating CBP employees to receive COVID–19 vaccine</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">Notwithstanding any other law, rule, or regulation, including Executive Order 14043 (86 Fed. Reg. 50989; relating to requiring coronavirus disease 2019 vaccination for Federal employees), during fiscal year 2022 and each fiscal year thereafter, no Federal funds may be obligated or expended to require any officer or employee of U.S. Customs and Border Protection to receive a COVID–19 vaccine. </text></section> </legis-body> </bill>
