R. 617</legis-num><current-chamber>IN THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES</current-chamber><action display="yes"><action-date date="20210128">January 28, 2021</action-date><action-desc><sponsor name-id="U000040">Ms. Underwood</sponsor> (for herself, <cosponsor name-id="B001285">Ms. Brownley</cosponsor>, <cosponsor name-id="Z000017">Mr. Zeldin</cosponsor>, and <cosponsor name-id="F000466">Mr. Fitzpatrick</cosponsor>) introduced the following bill; which was referred to the <committee-name committee-id="HVR00">Committee on Veterans' Affairs</committee-name></action-desc></action><legis-type>A BILL</legis-type><official-title display="yes">To prohibit the Secretary of Veterans Affairs from charging veterans copayments for preventive services relating to COVID–19.</official-title></form><legis-body id="HBA4DD3035C024A099BE95333F2D12C67" style="OLC"><section id="HED0B309AA7084E9F932483141EC47FFE" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the <quote><short-title>No Coronavirus Copays for Veterans Act</short-title></quote>.</text></section><section id="H7F78FFAA88A3454E916F3300592A4D68" section-type="subsequent-section"><enum>2.</enum><header>Prohibition on copayments and cost sharing for veterans receiving preventive services relating to COVID–19</header><subsection id="H8813EC5D7DF0452BA71C7B865F8C5B70"><enum>(a)</enum><header>Prohibition</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">The Secretary of Veterans Affairs may not require any copayment or other cost sharing under <external-xref legal-doc="usc-chapter" parsable-cite="usc-chapter/38/17">chapter 17</external-xref> of title 38, United States Code, for qualifying coronavirus preventive services. The requirement described in this subsection shall take effect with respect to a qualifying coronavirus preventive service on the specified date.</text></subsection><subsection id="H0DD3668B1938442FA8933A0C0B8E1A65"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Definitions</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">In this section, the terms <term>qualifying coronavirus preventive service</term> and <term>specified date</term> have the meaning given those terms in section 3203 of the CARES Act (<external-xref legal-doc="public-law" parsable-cite="pl/116/136">Public Law 116–136</external-xref>).</text></subsection></section></legis-body></bill>
