R. 612</legis-num><current-chamber>IN THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES</current-chamber><action display="yes"><action-date date="20210128">January 28, 2021</action-date><action-desc><sponsor name-id="S001211">Mr. Stanton</sponsor> introduced the following bill; which was referred to the <committee-name committee-id="HJU00">Committee on the Judiciary</committee-name></action-desc></action><legis-type>A BILL</legis-type><official-title display="yes">To amend the Radiation Exposure Compensation Act to include certain communities, and for other purposes.</official-title></form><legis-body id="H3622487BC6F042EE8154163F77A0C8A4" style="OLC"><section id="H036545B928644FEE986384372B7B3B48" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the <quote><short-title>Downwinders Parity Act of 2021</short-title></quote>.</text></section><section id="HEA89D63C2D7D4AF8B73327329AD881BE"><enum>2.</enum><header>Inclusion under the radiation exposure compensation act</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">Section 4(b)(1) of the Radiation Exposure Compensation Act (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/42/2210">42 U.S.C. 2210</external-xref> note; <external-xref legal-doc="public-law" parsable-cite="pl/101/426">Public Law 101–426</external-xref>) is amended—</text><paragraph id="H6CF415872FE442DBA06E64B96EF7DB9B"><enum>(1)</enum><text>in subparagraph (B)—</text><subparagraph id="HE2A9301C000C472E87473AEAFD54E1CD"><enum>(A)</enum><text>by striking <quote>that portion of</quote>; and</text></subparagraph><subparagraph id="HFAF9DD662A5C468C929F85DF63E9391D"><enum>(B)</enum><text>by striking <quote>that consists of townships 13 through 16 at ranges 63 through 71</quote>; and</text></subparagraph></paragraph><paragraph id="H511C978CEF5E4987BBBB4FD57234D9DA"><enum>(2)</enum><text>in subparagraph (C), by inserting <quote>all acreage in any county all or part of which is located in</quote> before <quote>that part</quote>.</text></paragraph></section><section id="HECF8A054DEDA406FBBA656B4ACA41733"><enum>3.</enum><header>Report</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">Within 180 days after the date of enactment of this Act, the Attorney General shall submit to the relevant committees of the House of Representatives and of the Senate a report that outlines efforts to educate and conduct outreach to persons made newly eligible for benefits under the amendments made by section 2 of this Act.</text></section></legis-body></bill>
