<section id="H78E79E0AD1754298A7EDD5BF7892831C" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the <quote><short-title>More Opportunities for Veterans Education Act</short-title></quote> or the <quote><short-title>MOVE Act</short-title></quote>.</text></section> <section id="H225E6ED2C6764673AD26B0C78388DAC2" section-type="subsequent-section"><enum>2.</enum><header>Extension of delimiting period for educational assistance benefits for certain individuals who first used Veteran Readiness and Employment benefits</header> <subsection id="HDFBAD43100064E1E92C656F31F69E65D" commented="no"><enum>(a)</enum><header>Extension</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Notwithstanding section 3031 or 3321 of title 38, United States Code, or any other applicable provision of law establishing a delimiting period, the delimiting period for the restored entitlement of a covered individual shall be the period, beginning on the date of the enactment of this Act, that equals the sum of—</text> 
<paragraph id="H45ED01CC6FEB4405821DB5A91DD3DBA3" commented="no"><enum>(1)</enum><text>the number of months of restored entitlement; and</text></paragraph> <paragraph id="H5F8EB9F9BB33478DAB2425A83F09F917" commented="no"><enum>(2)</enum><text>12 months.</text></paragraph></subsection> 
<subsection id="HAB1FABA536214A5DAD24ABB5515C8D6C"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Application</header><text>Subsection (a) shall apply with respect to a covered individual whose delimiting period for the restored entitlement of the individual was, as of the day before the date of the enactment of this Act, to expire on or after April 1, 2021.</text></subsection> <subsection id="HD4CC053CF1554BE88D85224773318320"><enum>(c)</enum><header>Notification</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Not later than 30 days after the date of the enactment of this Act, the Secretary of Veterans Affairs shall notify covered individuals of the extension of delimiting periods made under subsection (a).</text></subsection> 
<subsection id="HD8BE10B7BBC64797884C7F3004E38C31"><enum>(d)</enum><header>Definitions</header><text>In this section:</text> <paragraph id="HD33CE48DD6914A8FAB141875DF0119E5"><enum>(1)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">The term <term>covered individual</term> means an individual—</text> 
<subparagraph id="H34BCACC950584C3E9B15553DB861C804"><enum>(A)</enum><text>who received restored entitlement; and</text></subparagraph> <subparagraph id="HF90F1E7D02E54CC386EF616FB4DC9509" commented="no"><enum>(B)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">for whom the delimiting period to use such restored entitlement, as of the date on which the entitlement was restored, was fewer months than the sum of—</text> 
<clause id="HFF889A64729942A4874561096331B079"><enum>(i)</enum><text>the amount of months of the restored entitlement; and</text></clause> <clause id="H49241A02B3A947F7B33A9C45A266E290"><enum>(ii)</enum><text>12 months.</text></clause></subparagraph></paragraph> 
<paragraph id="HACBB4B65A6624C6FBE5067369BD31B5E"><enum>(2)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">The term <term>restored entitlement</term> means the entitlement of an individual to educational assistance under a provision of law referred to in subsection (a) of section 3695 of title 38, United States Code, that was increased by reason of the Secretary of Veterans Affairs determining on or about April 1, 2021, that an individual may use assistance under chapter 31 of such title before using educational assistance under such a provision of law without being subject to the 48-month limitation under such section 3695.</text> </paragraph></subsection></section> </legis-body> </bill>
