R. 592</legis-num><current-chamber>IN THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES</current-chamber><action display="yes"><action-date date="20210128">January 28, 2021</action-date><action-desc><sponsor name-id="R000612">Mr. Rose</sponsor> introduced the following bill; which was referred to the <committee-name committee-id="HJU00">Committee on the Judiciary</committee-name></action-desc></action><legis-type>A BILL</legis-type><official-title display="yes">To amend title 28, United States Code, to expand the definition of <quote>other institutions</quote> for purposes of acquisition, preservation, and exchange of identification records and information, and for other purposes.</official-title></form><legis-body id="H726F3F4057884DADA887E2EDF6882006" style="OLC"><section id="HEBB771F335474ABE8087DA6C8CE4A6AC" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Definition of <quote>other institutions</quote> expanded</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">Section 534(e) of title 28, United States Code, is amended—</text><paragraph id="HC2A82C3DD46C46998132433902DF373C"><enum>(1)</enum><text>in paragraph (1), by striking <quote>and</quote> at the end;</text></paragraph><paragraph id="HBBCC11DFDB89496F937E0A34BFC91A25"><enum>(2)</enum><text>in paragraph (2), by striking the period at the end; and</text></paragraph><paragraph id="HE04D5F59D171462191045DB03DC87F27"><enum>(3)</enum><text>by adding at the end the following:</text><quoted-block display-inline="no-display-inline" id="HE1E46DA8E96A41C8840C73E7C52EE5B6" style="USC"><paragraph id="H1784BBC24049445D908E5870130951F7"><enum>(3)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">police departments serving census-designated private resorts which perform the administration of criminal justice and have arrest powers pursuant to a State statute, which allocate a substantial part of their annual budget to the administration of criminal justice, and which meet training requirements established by law or ordinance for law enforcement officers.</text></paragraph><after-quoted-block>.</after-quoted-block></quoted-block></paragraph></section></legis-body></bill>
