Stafford Disaster Relief and Emergency Assistance Act to increase the threshold for eligibility for assistance under sections 403, 406, 407, and 502 of such Act, and for other purposes.<pagebreak></pagebreak></official-title></form><legis-body id="H1227C65B32C44936BE3B04EC29493740" style="OLC"><section id="H9CFEB23771D649059DFB0CC0E443FECC" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the <quote><short-title>Small Project Efficient and Effective Disaster Recovery Act</short-title></quote> or the <quote><short-title>SPEED Recovery Act</short-title></quote>. </text></section><section id="H2875FDC004594422816F382CEC519FF2" section-type="subsequent-section"><enum>2.</enum><header>Simplified procedure</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">Section 422 of the Robert T. Stafford Disaster Relief and Emergency Assistance Act (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/42/5189">42 U.S.C. 5189</external-xref>) is amended—</text><paragraph id="H49F8CDBE5A724E1EA6229C7DB8598150"><enum>(1)</enum><text>in subsection (a) by striking <quote>$35,000</quote> each place it appears and inserting <quote>$1,000,000</quote>; and</text></paragraph><paragraph id="HE00B1B00880D4236BBF84F5ED9562A25"><enum>(2)</enum><text>in subsection (b)(3)—</text><subparagraph id="H84717D55DABF4047B1D8B09DC261214D"><enum>(A)</enum><text>in the heading by inserting <quote><header-in-text level="paragraph" style="OLC">and report</header-in-text></quote> after <quote><header-in-text level="paragraph" style="OLC">Review</header-in-text></quote>; and</text></subparagraph><subparagraph id="HAD68285E0ED842A4B08E99C5B3C79E7C"><enum>(B)</enum><text>by inserting <quote>and submit to the Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure of the House of Representatives and the Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs of the Senate a report regarding such review, including any recommendations developed pursuant to such review</quote> after <quote>under this section</quote>. </text></subparagraph></paragraph></section></legis-body><endorsement display="yes"><action-date>March 24, 2022</action-date><action-desc>Committed to the Committee of the Whole House on the State of the Union and ordered to be printed</action-desc></endorsement></bill>
