R. 5628</legis-num><current-chamber>IN THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES</current-chamber><action display="yes"><action-date date="20211019">October 19, 2021</action-date><action-desc><sponsor name-id="L000273">Ms. Leger Fernandez</sponsor> introduced the following bill; which was referred to the <committee-name committee-id="HII00">Committee on Natural Resources</committee-name></action-desc></action><legis-type>A BILL</legis-type><official-title display="yes">To withdraw certain Federal land in the Pecos Watershed area of the State of New Mexico from mineral entry, and for other purposes.</official-title></form><legis-body id="HFF1F7DF6E97E4BE090674CF722E3157B" style="OLC"><section section-type="section-one" id="H2658B34F4D3940E7BD59335473267AD7"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the <quote><short-title>Pecos Watershed Protection Act</short-title></quote>.</text></section><section id="HB1460DBA01B74177AE1F59E284C07F39"><enum>2.</enum><header>Withdrawal of Federal land in Pecos Watershed area, New Mexico</header><subsection id="H0375A13075F5420983BE7793B49A480F"><enum>(a)</enum><header>Definition of Federal land</header><text>In this section, the term <term>Federal land</term> means the Federal land depicted as <quote>Pecos Withdrawal</quote> on the map entitled <quote>Pecos Watershed, upstream of I–25 Mineral Withdrawal</quote> and dated September 1, 2020. </text></subsection><subsection id="HE215226D5707433D98AC06AC18E6E80F"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Withdrawal</header><text>Subject to valid rights in existence on the date of enactment of this Act, the Federal land is withdrawn from all forms of—</text><paragraph id="HCFC60C647A39446DB053819756E75A98"><enum>(1)</enum><text>entry, appropriation, or disposal under the public land laws;</text></paragraph><paragraph id="HBA9D804BA86B4A0EBBD4FEFDD776DF4A"><enum>(2)</enum><text>location, entry, and patent under the mining laws; and </text></paragraph><paragraph id="H3E7FFCBA420047AA922596037B12C5C2"><enum>(3)</enum><text>disposition under all laws pertaining to mineral and geothermal leasing or mineral materials. </text></paragraph></subsection></section></legis-body></bill>
