1.This Act may be cited as the Biojet Fuel Research Act
.2.Sustainable Aviation Fuel Working Group(a)Title IX of the FAA Modernization and Reform Act of 2012 (Public Law 112–95) is amended by adding at the end the following:920.Sustainable Aviation Fuel Working Group(a)The Administration of the Federal Aviation Administration shall establish a Sustainable Aviation Fuel Working Group, in this section referred to as the Working Group
.(b)In establishing the Working Group, the Administrator shall appoint members representing the following:(1)The Bioenergy Technologies Office of the Department of Energy.(2)The Department of Agriculture.(3)The commercial aviation alternative fuels initiative.(4)The Federal Aviation Administration.(5)The national labs.(6)At least 4 current or future sustainable aviation fuel producers representing 4 of the currently approved ASTM D7566 sustainable aviation fuel production pathways.(7)A biorefinery.(8)An engine original equipment manufacturer.(9)Agriculture research universities.(10)Canada.(11)Mexico.(c)Not later than 1 year after the date of enactment of this section, the Working Group shall submit to the Committee on Science, Space, and Technology of the House of Representatives and the Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation of the Senate a report that identifies the research and development needs for each partner and cross-fertilization program across Federal agencies necessary for cost-competitive and equivalent safety compared to petroleum-based jet fuel, while offering improved sustainability and energy supply security for aviation. .(b)The table of contents in section 1(b) of such Act is amended by inserting after the item relating to section 919 the following: Sec. 920.
