which was referred to the <committee-name committee-id="HPW00">Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure</committee-name></action-desc></action><legis-type>A BILL</legis-type><official-title display="yes">To amend title 40, United States Code, to prevent Members of Congress and their employees from carrying firearms in the Capitol building, and for other purposes.</official-title></form><legis-body id="H96DE12A8D26C4733959AA5C9343F63DF" style="OLC"><section id="HA532F0F1F279452A80899D8E29115C32" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the <quote><short-title>No Congressional Gun Loophole Act</short-title></quote>. </text></section><section id="H0CC7623820FE4CC886CB924F440E8ED9"><enum>2.</enum><header>Capitol grounds and buildings security</header><subsection id="H24C6C0AD01D5433D9293DB918AB98432"><enum>(a)</enum><header>In general</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Section 5104(e)(1) of title 40, United States Code, is amended—</text><paragraph id="H1136BEC5EDBC403B9EC6A7E2309057BC"><enum>(1)</enum><text>in subparagraph (A), by redesignating clauses (i), (ii), and (iii) as subclauses (I), (II), and (III), respectively, and moving the margins 2 ems to the right;</text></paragraph><paragraph id="HEDCBCABC00874CD1BD7CD6356DBEAC22"><enum>(2)</enum><text>by redesignating subparagraphs (A) and (B) as clauses (i) and (ii), respectively, and moving the margins 2 ems to the right;</text></paragraph><paragraph id="HC2628A7033984DA1B728BC921E29B1C4"><enum>(3)</enum><text>by striking <quote>An individual</quote> and inserting the following: </text><quoted-block style="USC" id="HC92239B1D8D046EABE11F92735F71D64" display-inline="no-display-inline"><subparagraph id="H6E43E067DA0B472EB98D5DA5D62EA5EE"><enum>(A)</enum><header>In general</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">An individual</text></subparagraph><after-quoted-block>; and</after-quoted-block></quoted-block></paragraph><paragraph id="H9849EB3C0D6A45E4AB6B4867B02F67E2"><enum>(4)</enum><text>by adding at the end the following:</text><quoted-block style="USC" id="H8FE76CE70B5444A1AF46F383E35489DD" display-inline="no-display-inline"><subparagraph id="H6FFDBD6677A442349125D3928E05F39E"><enum>(B)</enum><header>Exception</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Notwithstanding subparagraph (A), the Capitol Police Board may not authorize or permit a Member of Congress or an employee of such Member of Congress to carry on or have readily accessible to such Member or employee a firearm, except a Member or employee may store a firearm in a car owned by such Member or employee that is parked in a garage in the Capitol complex if the Member or employee is in compliance with the firearms laws of the District of Columbia for the lawful possession of such firearm and such firearm is locked with a gun lock while on the Capitol complex.</text></subparagraph><after-quoted-block>.</after-quoted-block></quoted-block></paragraph></subsection><subsection id="HF69EE51098594FDCAF8AF3B4A1151901" commented="no"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Effective date</header><text>The amendments made by subsection (a) shall take effect on the date that is 15 days after the date of the enactment of this Act.</text></subsection></section></legis-body></bill>
