R. 538</legis-num><current-chamber>IN THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES</current-chamber><action display="yes"><action-date date="20210128">January 28, 2021</action-date><action-desc><sponsor name-id="G000565">Mr. Gosar</sponsor> introduced the following bill; which was referred to the <committee-name committee-id="HJU00">Committee on the Judiciary</committee-name></action-desc></action><legis-type>A BILL</legis-type><official-title display="yes">To amend the Radiation Exposure Compensation Act to include certain communities and to extend the fund, and for other purposes.</official-title></form><legis-body id="HC6BAA454BFE3404D8AA10113CA0ED330"><section id="H3D3F934F2B064FC5B7B31118CE450ED8" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the <quote><short-title>Downwinders Parity Act of 2021</short-title></quote>.</text></section><section id="H2B72E09293D44858BEBABC1065694AF4"><enum>2.</enum><header>Inclusion under the radiation exposure compensation act</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">Section 4(b)(1) of the Radiation Exposure Compensation Act (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/42/2210">42 U.S.C. 2210</external-xref> note; <external-xref legal-doc="public-law" parsable-cite="pl/101/426">Public Law 101–426</external-xref>) is amended—</text><paragraph id="H7C66E2888B1D42CD9C2B4F9EDE6F48A3"><enum>(1)</enum><text>in subparagraph (B)—</text><subparagraph id="H844A5F9AE64B4934B533F480A523F4E4"><enum>(A)</enum><text>by striking <quote>that portion of</quote>; and</text></subparagraph><subparagraph id="HDBB919F9E9F24DE7AFDB48C974CACDCD"><enum>(B)</enum><text>by striking <quote>that consists of townships 13 through 16 at ranges 63 through 71</quote>; and</text></subparagraph></paragraph><paragraph id="HA2FE5E3D9F8647778BFA60435C5A07E2"><enum>(2)</enum><text>in subparagraph (C), by inserting <quote>all acreage in any county all or part of which is located in</quote> before <quote>that part</quote>.</text></paragraph></section><section id="H609FE9643C794A48BE5091E786D2D8EA"><enum>3.</enum><header>Extension of fund</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">Section 3(d) of the Radiation Exposure Compensation Act (<external-xref legal-doc="public-law" parsable-cite="pl/101/426">Public Law 101–426</external-xref>; <external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/42/2210">42 U.S.C. 2210</external-xref> note) is amended—</text><paragraph id="H239D7C81FDD84598B6C5CCD42609668B"><enum>(1)</enum><text>by striking <quote>22 years</quote> and inserting <quote>27 years</quote>; and</text></paragraph><paragraph id="H5491ABF961A84AAF99F1B059BE341756"><enum>(2)</enum><text>by striking <quote>22-year</quote> and inserting <quote>27-year</quote>.</text></paragraph></section></legis-body></bill>
