R. 5293</legis-num><current-chamber>IN THE SENATE OF THE UNITED STATES</current-chamber><action><action-date>September 21, 2021</action-date><action-desc>Received</action-desc></action><legis-type>AN ACT</legis-type><official-title display="yes">To amend title 38, United States Code, to extend and modify certain authorities and requirements relating to the Department of Veterans Affairs, and for other purposes.</official-title></form><legis-body id="H93453DE624034ADD9C4D5C571D77F6B8" style="OLC"><pagebreak></pagebreak><section id="HB9DC83190FC34419993F3F26018E8265" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the <quote><short-title>Department of Veterans Affairs Expiring Authorities Act of 2021</short-title></quote>. </text></section><section id="H443E627B70DF468FADEE68CFCC8398EA"><enum>2.</enum><header>Extension of authority for dental insurance plan for veterans and survivors and dependents of veterans</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">Section 1712C of title 38, United States Code, is amended by striking subsection (j).</text></section><section id="H71CAF651D2BA4C9DBB23DD7965B76F26"><enum>3.</enum><header>Extension of temporary expansion of payments and allowances for beneficiary travel in connection with veterans receiving care from Vet Centers</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">Section 104(a) of the Honoring America’s Veterans and Caring for Camp Lejeune Families Act of 2012 (<external-xref legal-doc="public-law" parsable-cite="pl/112/154">Public Law 112–154</external-xref>; 126 Stat. 1169), as most recently amended by section 5109 of the Continuing Appropriations Act, 2021 and Other Extensions Act (<external-xref legal-doc="public-law" parsable-cite="pl/116/159">Public Law 116–159</external-xref>; 134 Stat. 749), is further amended by striking <quote>September 30, 2021</quote> and inserting <quote>September 30, 2022</quote>.</text></section><section id="H54C2F4B7922A416799021080EE8A6B06"><enum>4.</enum><header>Extension of authority for pilot program on acceptance by the Department of Veterans Affairs of donated facilities and related improvements</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">Section 2(i) of the Communities Helping Invest through Property and Improvements Needed for Veterans Act of 2016 (<external-xref legal-doc="public-law" parsable-cite="pl/114/294">Public Law 114–294</external-xref>; <external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/38/8103">38 U.S.C. 8103</external-xref> note) is amended by striking <quote>the date that is 5 years after the date of the enactment of this Act</quote> and inserting <quote>December 16, 2026</quote>.</text></section><section id="H3CB8AAB9499547FDBAAB2D201409B6FC"><enum>5.</enum><header>Determination of budgetary effects</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">The budgetary effects of this Act, for the purpose of complying with the Statutory Pay-As-You-Go Act of 2010, shall be determined by reference to the latest statement titled <quote>Budgetary Effects of PAYGO Legislation</quote> for this Act, submitted for printing in the Congressional Record by the Chairman of the House Budget Committee, provided that such statement has been submitted prior to the vote on passage.</text></section></legis-body><attestation><attestation-group><attestation-date date="20210920" chamber="House">Passed the House of Representatives September 20, 2021.</attestation-date><attestor display="yes">Cheryl L.
