R. 466</legis-num><current-chamber>IN THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES</current-chamber><action display="yes"><action-date date="20210125">January 25, 2021</action-date><action-desc><sponsor name-id="G000588">Mr. Gonzalez of Ohio</sponsor> (for himself, <cosponsor name-id="H001088">Mr. Hagedorn</cosponsor>, <cosponsor name-id="J000302">Mr. Joyce of Pennsylvania</cosponsor>, <cosponsor name-id="T000165">Mr. Tiffany</cosponsor>, <cosponsor name-id="S001213">Mr. Steil</cosponsor>, <cosponsor name-id="G000591">Mr. Guest</cosponsor>, <cosponsor name-id="B001306">Mr. Balderson</cosponsor>, <cosponsor name-id="M001186">Mr. Meijer</cosponsor>, and <cosponsor name-id="A000377">Mr. Armstrong</cosponsor>) introduced the following bill; which was referred to the <committee-name committee-id="HFA00">Committee on Foreign Affairs</committee-name></action-desc></action><legis-type>A BILL</legis-type><official-title display="yes">To prohibit the use of funds to provide for the United States to become a party to the Paris Agreement.</official-title></form><legis-body id="H30A35E2E7D7D42F99FB5E511349E5FFE" style="OLC"><section id="H0BC52D434B6F4B83A42878982B81265C" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the <quote><short-title>Paris Climate Accord Accountability Act</short-title></quote>. </text></section><section id="H1E28727F05604B5F9725F2C2DCF3C23F"><enum>2.</enum><header>Prohibition on use of funds to provide for the United States to become a party to the Paris Agreement</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">Notwithstanding any other provision of law, no funds are authorized to be appropriated, obligated, or expended to take any action to provide for the United States to become a party to the Paris Agreement unless the Senate provides its advice and consent to ratification of the Paris Agreement.</text></section><section id="HDADD262AB8EB48978EA7CD5889AB204D"><enum>3.</enum><header>Paris Agreement defined</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">In this Act, the term <term>Paris Agreement</term> means the decision by the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change’s 21st Conference of Parties in Paris, France, adopted December 12, 2015. </text></section></legis-body></bill>
