Scott Franklin of Florida</cosponsor></action-desc></action><action display="yes"><action-date date="20220919">September 19, 2022</action-date><action-desc>Reported with an amendment, committed to the Committee of the Whole House on the State of the Union, and ordered to be printed</action-desc><action-instruction>Strike out all after the enacting clause and insert the part printed in italic</action-instruction><action-instruction>For text of introduced bill, see copy of bill as introduced on July 6, 2021</action-instruction></action><action><action-desc><pagebreak></pagebreak></action-desc></action><legis-type>A BILL</legis-type><official-title display="yes">To amend the Wild and Scenic Rivers Act to designate segments of the Little Manatee River as a component of the Wild and Scenic Rivers System, and for other purposes.<pagebreak></pagebreak></official-title></form><legis-body display-enacting-clause="yes-display-enacting-clause" changed="added" style="OLC" committee-id="HII00" reported-display-style="italic" id="HAAE52C4D705A404095C477ECDE800C33"><section id="HE5F677F649174589962981A18E028CD2" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the <quote><short-title>Little Manatee Wild and Scenic River Act</short-title></quote>.</text></section><section id="H18EBEA6036544BBC8412DC78B3C1B241"><enum>2.</enum><header>Designation for study of wild and scenic river segments, Little Manatee River, Florida</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">Section 5(a) of the Wild and Scenic Rivers Act (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/16/1276">16 U.S.C. 1276(a)</external-xref>) is amended by adding at the end the following:</text><quoted-block style="OLC" id="H0C4FD221CC3E4068980B5FC732381B50" display-inline="no-display-inline" changed="added" reported-display-style="italic" committee-id="HII00"><paragraph id="H9B6A868E69364A37AAE36DCCDC6987C8"><enum>(__)</enum><header>Little Manatee River, Florida</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">The approximately 50-mile segment beginning at the source in southeastern Hillsborough County, Florida, downstream to the point at which the river enters Tampa Bay, including appropriate tributaries, but shall not include—</text><subparagraph id="HA970EFB7BEA342DFA0EAD30F01D872AD"><enum>(A)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">those portions lying within Manatee County, Florida, and being more particularly described as Parcel ID 247800059, Parcel ID 248200008 and Parcel ID 248100000; and</text></subparagraph><subparagraph id="H6122F500156F436CA4F1156CB73FAD0B"><enum>(B)</enum><text>South Fork.</text></subparagraph></paragraph><after-quoted-block>.</after-quoted-block></quoted-block></section><section id="H582A4B18034745E6AC24FB960B2D90A7"><enum>3.</enum><header>Study and report</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">Section 5(b) of the Wild and Scenic Rivers Act (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/16/1276">16 U.S.C. 1276(b)</external-xref>) is amended by adding at the end the following:</text><quoted-block style="OLC" id="H18C8CE27A6DD446C85FC2707C74A4691" display-inline="no-display-inline" changed="added" reported-display-style="italic" committee-id="HII00"><paragraph id="H25CBFA43EBF940F285CF2A767CC12992"><enum>(__)</enum><header>Little Manatee River, Florida</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Not later than 3 years after the date on which funds are made available to carry out this paragraph, the Secretary of the Interior shall—</text><subparagraph id="HFD6B387A4DE947949FCF44E78DE83488"><enum>(A)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">complete the study of the Little Manatee River, Florida named in subsection (a)(_); and</text></subparagraph><subparagraph id="H0B3705DE631C48119A3EC55C0194E413"><enum>(B)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">submit to the Committee on Natural Resources of the House of Representatives and the Committee on Energy and Natural Resources of the Senate a report that describes the results of the study.</text></subparagraph></paragraph><after-quoted-block>.</after-quoted-block></quoted-block></section><section id="H9FB02C87C46C4C26A65918FB48772C78"><enum>4.</enum><header>Effect on management</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act and the amendments made by this Act shall not interfere with the current management of the area of the Little Manatee River described in section 5(a)(_) of the Wild and Scenic Rivers Act, nor shall the fact that such area is listed for study under the Wild and Scenic Rivers Act (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/16/1271">16 U.S.C. 1271 et seq.</external-xref>) be used as justification for more restrictive management until Congress acts on the study recommendations.</text></section></legis-body><endorsement display="yes"><action-date date="20220919">September 19, 2022</action-date><action-desc>Reported with an amendment, committed to the Committee of the Whole House on the State of the Union, and ordered to be printed</action-desc></endorsement></bill>
