<official-title display="yes">To name the Department of Veterans Affairs community-based outpatient clinic in Aurora, Colorado, as the <quote>Lieutenant Colonel John W. Mosley VA Clinic</quote>.</official-title>

<section id="H8FA092E7CC7A459D9C8BC90EE7CF6741" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Name of Department of Veterans Affairs community-based outpatient clinic, Aurora, Colorado</header> 
<subsection id="HDFD528DF15614BE4A5466E06D7A1A060"><enum>(a)</enum><header>Findings</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Congress makes the following findings:</text> <paragraph id="H831FFF5DEE794A89B229EA5CF0C7268D"><enum>(1)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">John Mosley was born on June 21, 1921, in Denver, Colorado.</text></paragraph> 
<paragraph id="H04CA9832CB4843A3AD91BDED9B571E35"><enum>(2)</enum><text>In 1945, John Mosley married Edna Mosley.</text></paragraph> <paragraph id="H018EC57B32D5404F99021E4EE69FD4BA"><enum>(3)</enum><text>During World War II, he joined the famed Tuskegee Airmen and trained as a bomber pilot, serving as one of the first African Americans in that role. He earned the flight qualification of Command Pilot during his service in the United States Air Force. The brave service of the Tuskegee Airmen helped pave the way for integration of the armed services. Edna Mosley worked in the defense industry during the war. </text></paragraph> 
<paragraph id="H73C2137A50C14CB7858B408F92F6DD70"><enum>(4)</enum><text>Upon their return to Colorado, Edna Mosley joined John as a tireless community activist and organizer. Among her many achievements, Edna was elected to three terms as Aurora’s first African-American City Council Woman. While on the Council, Mrs. Mosley also served on the Board of Directors of the Fitzsimons Redevelopment Authority, the entity which provided the vision for the development of the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center. </text></paragraph> <paragraph id="H9562EBFC3C36477A9AE2C354A82C87AC"><enum>(5)</enum><text>After a brief break from military service, John Mosley served during the Korean and Vietnam wars. He was an operations officer in Thailand during the Vietnam War.</text></paragraph> 
<paragraph id="H4CEA816852434DCC8FD7481285B0374A"><enum>(6)</enum><text>John Mosley retired in 1970 as a lieutenant colonel.</text></paragraph> <paragraph id="HCDA82297E24C4DB787163BA061C6EB0E"><enum>(7)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">In 2007, Lieutenant Colonel Mosley and the original Tuskegee Airmen received the Congressional Gold Medal from President George W. Bush.</text></paragraph> 
<paragraph id="H37278C6CA47E44698FC82F483519B8A9"><enum>(8)</enum><text>John and Edna Mosley continued to serve their community long after their retirements, advocating for racial equality, women’s rights, veterans’ affairs, housing, and education.</text></paragraph></subsection> <subsection id="HDF4CC1E6094E4337AF8617535DAE20A0"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Designation</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">The Department of Veterans Affairs community-based outpatient clinic to be located in Aurora, Colorado, shall after the date of the enactment of this Act be known and designated as the <quote>Lieutenant Colonel John W. Mosley Clinic</quote>.</text></subsection> 
<subsection id="HCBABB5C9912B4C06B6BAF5A629E5A9B9"><enum>(c)</enum><header>References</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Any reference to such clinic in any law, regulation, map, document, record, or other paper of the United States shall be considered to be a reference to the Lieutenant Colonel John W. Mosley Clinic.</text></subsection></section> </legis-body> <attestation><attestation-group><role>Speaker of the House of Representatives.</role></attestation-group><attestation-group><role>Vice President of the United States and President of the Senate.</role></attestation-group></attestation> </bill>
