R. 3742</legis-num><current-chamber>IN THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES</current-chamber><action display="yes"><action-date date="20210608">June 8, 2021</action-date><action-desc><sponsor name-id="B001257">Mr. Bilirakis</sponsor> (for himself and <cosponsor name-id="R000602">Miss Rice of New York</cosponsor>) introduced the following bill; which was referred to the <committee-name committee-id="HWM00">Committee on Ways and Means</committee-name>, and in addition to the Committee on <committee-name committee-id="HIF00">Energy and Commerce</committee-name>, for a period to be subsequently determined by the Speaker, in each case for consideration of such provisions as fall within the jurisdiction of the committee concerned</action-desc></action><legis-type>A BILL</legis-type><official-title display="yes">To require the Secretary of Health and Human Services to issue revised regulations to require the dissemination of information on ACIP recommended immunizations to staff of nursing facilities.</official-title></form><legis-body id="HB4CE4B983BA44D5B915A162C9B378678" style="OLC"><section id="HE98BED8C5FF34C208067BE2F3F0EDE30" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the <quote><short-title>Vaccine Information for Nursing Facility Operators Act</short-title></quote> or the <quote><short-title>Vaccine INFO Act</short-title></quote>.</text></section><section id="H54741044B8734D0082DE109C7A77DDFC"><enum>2.</enum><header>Requiring dissemination of information on ACIP recommended immunizations to staff of nursing facilities</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">Not later than 6 months after the date of the enactment of this Act, the Secretary of Health and Human Services shall revise section 483.80 of title 42, Code of Federal Regulations, to require that the policies and procedures that are required under such section to be developed by a facility described in such section as part of the infection prevention and control program described in such section shall include policies and procedures to ensure that—</text><paragraph id="HC8C85F5F1F7647E7932F078FE0578F60"><enum>(1)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">all individuals who are staff of the facility (as defined for purposes of such section) are provided information on the benefits and potential side effects for each immunization recommended by the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices for health care personnel;</text></paragraph><paragraph id="H7667E143680F4A64AD2CFC93F5758AF1"><enum>(2)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">in the case that the facility offers such an immunization to an individual described in paragraph (1), the information described in such paragraph for the respective immunization so offered is provided to such individual before such immunization is offered to such individual by such facility; and</text></paragraph><paragraph id="H0A4767F580EF42F7BE54874344320CCB"><enum>(3)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">in the case that the facility does not offer such an immunization to individuals who are described in paragraph (1), the facility includes with the information required to be provided to such individuals under such paragraph for the respective immunization that is not so offered, information on the availability of such immunization, including locations for receiving such immunization, and the associated costs to the individual for such immunization.</text></paragraph></section></legis-body></bill>
