R. 3349</legis-num><current-chamber>IN THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES</current-chamber><action display="yes"><action-date date="20210519">May 19, 2021</action-date><action-desc><sponsor name-id="M001194">Mr. Moolenaar</sponsor> introduced the following bill; which was referred to the <committee-name committee-id="HPW00">Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure</committee-name></action-desc></action><legis-type>A BILL</legis-type><official-title display="yes">To increase for calendar years 2020 and 2021 the amount of the Federal share for disaster relief and emergency assistance for a local government with a population of less than 50,000, and for other purposes.</official-title></form><legis-body id="H39AAD875354145FEBB58632E2AACB3F1" style="OLC"><section id="H7D1A1C3C97164C4EAE87B3CD7159FBF2" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the <quote><short-title>Rural Disaster Support and Relief Act</short-title></quote>.</text></section><section id="HFEAF0F34AB7D4CFE8CB4ADD2AA4151B1" section-type="subsequent-section"><enum>2.</enum><header>Increase in Federal share</header><subsection id="HFB83AED946384D0D812687503AE38F5A"><enum>(a)</enum><header>In general</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Notwithstanding sections 203(h)(1), 403(b), 403(c)(4), 404(a), 406(b), 407(d), 428(e)(2)(B), 503(a), and 614(b) of the Robert T. Stafford Disaster Relief and Emergency Assistance Act (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/42/5121">42 U.S.C. 5121 et seq.</external-xref>), for a major disaster or emergency declared during calendar year 2020 or 2021 that has not completed the recovery phase, the Federal share of assistance provided under such sections for a local government with a population of not more than 50,000 shall be not less than 90 percent of the eligible cost of such assistance.</text></subsection><subsection id="H3325F67C6434469CB0703AA896BF0A06"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Definitions</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">For purposes of this section, the term <quote>local government</quote> has the same meaning given such term in section 102 of the Robert T. Stafford Disaster Relief and Emergency Assistance Act (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/42/5122">42 U.S.C. 5122</external-xref>). </text></subsection></section><section id="H9794FDE8E6B742C784D7DF83DB35C6A5"><enum>3.</enum><header>Flood insurance</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">Section 406(d)(1) of the Robert T. Stafford Disaster Relief and Emergency Assistance Act (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/42/5171">42 U.S.C. 5171(d)(1)</external-xref>), is amended by striking <quote>, through December 31, 2018</quote>. </text></section></legis-body></bill>
