R. 3290</legis-num><current-chamber>IN THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES</current-chamber><action display="yes"><action-date date="20210518">May 18, 2021</action-date><action-desc><sponsor name-id="V000134">Ms. Van Duyne</sponsor> introduced the following bill; which was referred to the <committee-name committee-id="HJU00">Committee on the Judiciary</committee-name></action-desc></action><legis-type>A BILL</legis-type><official-title display="yes">To prohibit the disposition of a firearm to, and the possession of a firearm by, an adult who, while a juvenile who had attained 15 years of age but not 18 years of age, committed an offense that would have been a felony if committed by an adult.</official-title></form><legis-body id="HC0411DEE9CFA423C837B7495F7A39795" style="OLC"><section id="H5AC2A9D2B8B94505B1AAC07E8F47E722" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the <quote><short-title>Disarming Felons Act</short-title></quote>. </text></section><section id="H8EACB0CDE5EC4E9E86D38F2D890C0816"><enum>2.</enum><header>Prohibition on disposition of firearm to, and possession of firearm by, an adult who, while a juvenile who had attained <enum-in-header>15</enum-in-header> years of age but not <enum-in-header>18</enum-in-header> years of age, committed an offense that would have been a felony if committed by an adult</header><subsection id="H7AA6E38FD6F547F3BF5E479F76638052"><enum>(a)</enum><header>Prohibition on disposition</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Section 922(d) of title 18, United States Code, is amended in the 1st sentence—</text><paragraph id="HFB8AE4E55D944ABD86C92735C4D6F6F1"><enum>(1)</enum><text>by striking <quote>or</quote> at the end of paragraph (8)(B)(ii);</text></paragraph><paragraph id="HF71222A741AF4F86ADDD973A682DA0C8"><enum>(2)</enum><text>by striking the period at the end of paragraph (9) and inserting <quote>; or</quote>; and</text></paragraph><paragraph id="H71C565DDDB9D4DA6B9676FA4F247F28C"><enum>(3)</enum><text>by inserting after paragraph (9) the following:</text><quoted-block style="OLC" id="H346C92CDB727498FAA7DA897C946D49D" display-inline="no-display-inline"><paragraph id="H4FE5C1BAE0DB476A9B6012DEEF6C324B"><enum>(10)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">while a juvenile who had attained 15 years of age but not 18 years of age, committed an act of juvenile delinquency that would have been a felony if committed by an adult.</text></paragraph><after-quoted-block>.</after-quoted-block></quoted-block></paragraph></subsection><subsection id="HCF74FF7B0DAF4D71A8AAB3F79BA48FCF" display-inline="no-display-inline"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Prohibition on possession</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Section 922(g) of title 18, United States Code, is amended—</text><paragraph id="H633B7D0792584B6E84A68E8D4CF3522D"><enum>(1)</enum><text>by striking <quote>or</quote> at the end of paragraph (8)(C)(ii);</text></paragraph><paragraph id="HB6FD896C199C4CD2A1DCD461973F24D1"><enum>(2)</enum><text>by striking the comma at the end of paragraph (9) and inserting <quote>; or</quote>; and</text></paragraph><paragraph id="HD781C44E0BF142BC957F4C1FACD49AE0"><enum>(3)</enum><text>by inserting after paragraph (9) the following:</text><quoted-block style="OLC" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="HC48E03FA598B49E2A30534B8284337DE"><paragraph id="H3664936E77264198AEC857AC0A78824E"><enum>(10)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">who, while a juvenile who had attained 15 years of age but not 18 years of age, committed an act of juvenile delinquency that would have been a felony if committed by an adult,</text></paragraph><after-quoted-block>.</after-quoted-block></quoted-block></paragraph></subsection></section></legis-body></bill>
