R. 3010</legis-num><current-chamber>IN THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES</current-chamber><action display="yes"><action-date date="20210507">May 7, 2021</action-date><action-desc><sponsor name-id="T000479">Mr. Taylor</sponsor> (for himself, <cosponsor name-id="T000468">Ms. Titus</cosponsor>, <cosponsor name-id="P000613">Mr. Panetta</cosponsor>, <cosponsor name-id="W000823">Mr. Waltz</cosponsor>, <cosponsor name-id="D000630">Mr. Delgado</cosponsor>, <cosponsor name-id="N000191">Mr. Neguse</cosponsor>, <cosponsor name-id="P000615">Mr. Pence</cosponsor>, and <cosponsor name-id="M001157">Mr. McCaul</cosponsor>) introduced the following bill; which was referred to the <committee-name committee-id="HPW00">Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure</committee-name></action-desc></action><legis-type>A BILL</legis-type><official-title display="yes">To require search and rescue dogs to be treated in the same manner as seeing-eye dogs in the event of a federally declared disaster, and for other purposes.</official-title></form><legis-body id="H9449533D90664644949AF5D5641CF037" style="OLC"><section id="H314FA852B8084B07BEDA2D96CF64C899" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the <quote><short-title>Search and Rescue Dog Protection Act</short-title></quote>.</text></section><section id="H3D8A4FA10D6340DEA6BABA224882989A"><enum>2.</enum><header>Search and rescue dogs</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">In the case of any major disaster or emergency declared by the President under the Robert T. Stafford Disaster Relief and Emergency Assistance Act (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/42/5121">42 U.S.C. 5121</external-xref> et seq.), and with respect to any area within a declaration under such Act or while in transit to any such area, any search and rescue dog certified pursuant to regulations and requirements issued by the Administrator of the Federal Emergency Management Agency shall be treated in the same manner as a service animal is treated pursuant to the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/42/12101">42 U.S.C. 12101</external-xref> et seq.) and its implementing regulations at 28 CFR 35.136 and 36.302.</text></section></legis-body></bill>
