R. 2982</legis-num><current-chamber>IN THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES</current-chamber><action display="yes"><action-date date="20210504">May 4, 2021</action-date><action-desc><sponsor name-id="K000394">Mr. Kim of New Jersey</sponsor> (for himself, <cosponsor name-id="W000795">Mr. Wilson of South Carolina</cosponsor>, <cosponsor name-id="K000382">Ms. Kuster</cosponsor>, <cosponsor name-id="K000388">Mr. Kelly of Mississippi</cosponsor>, and <cosponsor name-id="R000577">Mr. Ryan</cosponsor>) introduced the following bill; which was referred to the <committee-name committee-id="HAS00">Committee on Armed Services</committee-name></action-desc></action><legis-type>A BILL</legis-type><official-title display="yes">To amend title 32, United States Code, to authorize cybersecurity operations and missions to protect critical infrastructure by members of the National Guard in connection with training or other duty.</official-title></form><legis-body id="HFFCE2248A7CF49CFAF9AF78F1C10B1C7" style="OLC"><section id="H753DDA5513BD48FF8B4F10AF346C4F48" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the <quote><short-title>National Guard Cybersecurity Support Act</short-title></quote>.</text></section><section section-type="subsequent-section" id="H25E8AFF7F920437BA560A458F78F1CF3"><enum>2.</enum><header>Cybersecurity operations and missions to protect critical infrastructure by members of the National Guard in connection with training or other duty</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">Section 502(f)(1) of title 32, United States Code, is amended by adding after the flush matter at the end the following new sentence: <quote>Such training or other duty may include cybersecurity operations or missions undertaken by the member's unit at the request of the Governor of the State concerned to protect critical infrastructure (as that term is defined in the Critical Infrastructures Protection Act of 2001 (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/42/5195c">42 U.S.C. 5195c</external-xref>)).</quote>.</text></section></legis-body></bill>
