Scott Franklin of Florida</cosponsor>, <cosponsor name-id="G000578">Mr. Gaetz</cosponsor>, <cosponsor name-id="G000593">Mr. Gimenez</cosponsor>, <cosponsor name-id="L000586">Mr. Lawson of Florida</cosponsor>, <cosponsor name-id="M001199">Mr. Mast</cosponsor>, <cosponsor name-id="M001202">Mrs. Murphy of Florida</cosponsor>, <cosponsor name-id="P000599">Mr. Posey</cosponsor>, <cosponsor name-id="R000609">Mr. Rutherford</cosponsor>, <cosponsor name-id="S000168">Ms. Salazar</cosponsor>, <cosponsor name-id="S001200">Mr. Soto</cosponsor>, <cosponsor name-id="W000797">Ms. Wasserman Schultz</cosponsor>, and <cosponsor name-id="W000808">Ms. Wilson of Florida</cosponsor>) introduced the following bill; which was referred to the <committee-name committee-id="HII00">Committee on Natural Resources</committee-name></action-desc></action><legis-type>A BILL</legis-type><official-title display="yes">To amend the Outer Continental Shelf Lands Act to prohibit oil and gas preleasing, leasing, and related activities in certain areas of the Outer Continental Shelf off the coast of Florida, and for other purposes.</official-title></form><legis-body id="H66609F23E4154DC0B3CDE43FE40048E5" style="OLC"><section display-inline="no-display-inline" id="H881B3BE462764BBD86FD570EB627332A" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the <quote><short-title>Florida Coastal Protection Act</short-title></quote>.</text></section><section id="HB6A467D0506F44579174E97AB22A8C73"><enum>2.</enum><header>Prohibition of oil and natural gas preleasing, leasing, and related activities in certain areas off the coast of Florida</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">Section 18 of the Outer Continental Shelf Lands Act (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/43/1344">43 U.S.C. 1344</external-xref>) is amended by adding at the end the following:</text><quoted-block id="H1CE7DBF5AF7C48D4A4FBACE35A18D021" style="OLC"><subsection id="H1BFAC97FE9054BF3B350EE8AEB00FDE8"><enum>(i)</enum><header>Prohibition of oil and natural gas preleasing, leasing, and related activities in certain areas off the coast of Florida</header><paragraph id="H8570E40A564E47E9A96367675B89DE15"><enum>(1)</enum><header>Prohibition</header><text>Notwithstanding any other provision of this section or any other law, the Secretary may not offer for oil and gas leasing or preleasing or any related activity, any tract located in—</text><subparagraph commented="no" id="H96D87C85D9C745EF82A5B07DC3587C0A"><enum>(A)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">any area of the Eastern Gulf of Mexico that is referred to in section 104(a) of the Gulf of Mexico Energy Security Act of 2006;</text></subparagraph><subparagraph id="H7A185322103144B89CBCF9F0A7375F03"><enum>(B)</enum><text>the portion of the South Atlantic Planning Area south of 30 degrees 43 minutes North Latitude; or</text></subparagraph><subparagraph id="H18EBA7AFFFA541A3857F2A0593F4F110"><enum>(C)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">the Straits of Florida Planning Area.</text></subparagraph></paragraph><paragraph id="H043DF56430944330A4E79E4542F11676"><enum>(2)</enum><header>Limitation on effect</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Nothing in this subsection affects any right under any lease issued under this Act before the date of enactment of this subsection.</text></paragraph></subsection><after-quoted-block>.</after-quoted-block></quoted-block></section></legis-body></bill>
