R. 2210</legis-num><current-chamber>IN THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES</current-chamber><action display="yes"><action-date date="20210326">March 26, 2021</action-date><action-desc><sponsor name-id="F000466">Mr. Fitzpatrick</sponsor> (for himself, <cosponsor name-id="G000583">Mr. Gottheimer</cosponsor>, <cosponsor name-id="S001196">Ms. Stefanik</cosponsor>, <cosponsor name-id="M001202">Mrs. Murphy of Florida</cosponsor>, <cosponsor name-id="K000376">Mr. Kelly of Pennsylvania</cosponsor>, <cosponsor name-id="K000394">Mr. Kim of New Jersey</cosponsor>, <cosponsor name-id="H001056">Ms. Herrera Beutler</cosponsor>, and <cosponsor name-id="E000296">Mr. Evans</cosponsor>) introduced the following bill; which was referred to the <committee-name committee-id="HIF00">Committee on Energy and Commerce</committee-name></action-desc></action><legis-type>A BILL</legis-type><official-title display="yes">To ensure that a fair percentage of Federal cancer research funds are dedicated to pediatric cancer research.</official-title></form><legis-body id="H16DC2004669747FE925145CA2098C0EA" style="OLC"><section id="H1F0BD6817810440585179009F0F8BF2B" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the <quote><short-title>Fairness to Kids with Cancer Act of 2021</short-title></quote>.</text></section><section id="H52C271AF85D642548AB31F62DF87F81C"><enum>2.</enum><header>Percentage of Federal cancer research funds required To be used for pediatric cancer research</header><subsection id="H2B86CD1DBD50459F8B99E4A36CC26496"><enum>(a)</enum><header>In general</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">For fiscal year 2022 and each subsequent fiscal year, the President shall ensure that, of the total amount of Federal funds obligated for cancer research, the percentage obligated for pediatric cancer research is equal to the percentage described in subsection (b).</text></subsection><subsection id="H6D8EC7E7DCFB4655B97938D691391907"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Percentage</header><text>The percentage described in this subsection is the percentage constituted by the ratio of the number of individuals who are under the age of 18 residing in the United States at the end of the fiscal year preceding the fiscal year to which subsection (a) is being applied, to the total number of individuals residing in the United States at such time, as determined by the Bureau of the Census.</text></subsection></section></legis-body></bill>
