R. 2014</legis-num><current-chamber>IN THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES</current-chamber><action display="yes"><action-date date="20210318">March 18, 2021</action-date><action-desc><sponsor name-id="G000579">Mr. Gallagher</sponsor> (for himself, <cosponsor name-id="G000592">Mr. Golden</cosponsor>, <cosponsor name-id="M001186">Mr. Meijer</cosponsor>, and <cosponsor name-id="S001209">Ms. Spanberger</cosponsor>) introduced the following bill; which was referred to the <committee-name committee-id="HFA00">Committee on Foreign Affairs</committee-name></action-desc></action><legis-type>A BILL</legis-type><official-title display="yes">To repeal certain outdated authorizations for the use of military force, and for other purposes.</official-title></form><legis-body id="H065EDC4AB0074F4F88B202D5054D3F86" style="OLC"><section id="HF58B6AA2B76944C9A932629B03EBD022" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the <quote><short-title>Outdated AUMF Repeal Act</short-title></quote>.</text></section><section id="H2B0BE48181C547DAB2D0EC9C4734E5BE"><enum>2.</enum><header>Repeal of authorization for use of military force against Iraq resolution of 2002</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">The Authorization for Use of Military Force Against Iraq Resolution of 2002 (<external-xref legal-doc="public-law" parsable-cite="pl/107/243">Public Law 107–243</external-xref>; <external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/50/1541">50 U.S.C. 1541</external-xref> note) is hereby repealed.</text></section><section id="H1367B5A8D20A42A094A3FE3306D39E56"><enum>3.</enum><header>Repeal of authorization for use of military force against Iraq resolution</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">The Authorization for Use of Military Force Against Iraq Resolution (<external-xref legal-doc="public-law" parsable-cite="pl/102/1">Public Law 102–1</external-xref>; <external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/50/1541">50 U.S.C. 1541</external-xref> note) is hereby repealed.</text></section><section id="HE9593130C51B44E9A19FE6A65924F719"><enum>4.</enum><header>Repeal of resolution to promote peace and stability in the Middle East</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">The joint resolution entitled <quote>A joint resolution to promote peace and stability in the Middle East</quote> (<external-xref legal-doc="public-law" parsable-cite="pl/85/7">Public Law 85–7</external-xref>; <external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/22/1961">22 U.S.C. 1961</external-xref> et seq.) is hereby repealed.</text></section></legis-body></bill>
