Scott Franklin of Florida</cosponsor>, <cosponsor name-id="C001115">Mr. Cloud</cosponsor>, <cosponsor name-id="O000086">Mr. Owens</cosponsor>, <cosponsor name-id="G000589">Mr. Gooden of Texas</cosponsor>, <cosponsor name-id="F000450">Ms. Foxx</cosponsor>, <cosponsor name-id="G000593">Mr. Gimenez</cosponsor>, <cosponsor name-id="L000578">Mr. LaMalfa</cosponsor>, <cosponsor name-id="H001071">Mr. Hice of Georgia</cosponsor>, <cosponsor name-id="W000816">Mr. Williams of Texas</cosponsor>, <cosponsor name-id="F000446">Mr. Feenstra</cosponsor>, <cosponsor name-id="G000591">Mr. Guest</cosponsor>, <cosponsor name-id="C001104">Mr. Cawthorn</cosponsor>, and <cosponsor name-id="M001213">Mr. Moore of Utah</cosponsor>) introduced the following bill; which was referred to the <committee-name committee-id="HGO00">Committee on Oversight and Reform</committee-name></action-desc></action><legis-type>A BILL</legis-type><official-title display="yes">To amend the Social Security Act to remove the restriction on the use of funds under the Coronavirus State Fiscal Recovery Fund to offset reductions in State or territory tax revenues.</official-title></form><legis-body id="HB72E4D6B573C4F0AAF296BE244D9595C" style="OLC"><section id="HB024D4E0E18049BAAA009723E3CD8AEB" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the <quote><short-title>Let States Cut Taxes Act</short-title></quote>. </text></section><section id="H218B5221996B4300A4C4D0DF9F650C31"><enum>2.</enum><header>Removal of restriction on use of funds under Coronavirus State Fiscal Recovery Fund</header><subsection id="H5AEEABD7BD344256AB5A5ED097389248"><enum>(a)</enum><header>Removal of restriction</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Paragraph (2) of subsection (c) of section 602 of the Social Security Act, as added by section 9901 of the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021 (<external-xref legal-doc="public-law" parsable-cite="pl/117/2">Public Law 117–2</external-xref>), is amended to read as follows:</text><quoted-block style="OLC" id="HEDD359E81222475A91B0CBEB4EB2FA10" display-inline="no-display-inline"><paragraph id="H9DC8FEFC442D4BDEA4A5BA8303CAE022"><enum>(2)</enum><header>Further restriction on use of funds</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">No State or territory may use funds made available under this section for deposit into any pension fund.</text></paragraph><after-quoted-block>.</after-quoted-block></quoted-block></subsection><subsection id="H930E326F926F4097B8405F329FFBF86E"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Conforming amendments</header><text>Such section is further amended—</text><paragraph id="H9F5BFCA3FBD747DCB9A3248BE0876B8F"><enum>(1)</enum><text>in subsection (d)(2)(A), by striking <quote>, including, in the case of a State or a territory, all modification to the State’s or territory’s tax revenue sources during the covered period</quote>;</text></paragraph><paragraph id="H3AA0F5B72FC94C3A9BBFC4BE6B6D07B9"><enum>(2)</enum><text>in subsection (e), by striking <quote>such subsection,</quote> and all that follows through the period and inserting <quote>such subsection.</quote>; and</text></paragraph><paragraph id="HFD3F35F3369143528B06F353E66DB6BB"><enum>(3)</enum><text>in subsection (g)—</text><subparagraph id="HB91E6F0B52FE4F9896B1378F04D8952E"><enum>(A)</enum><text>by striking paragraph (1); and</text></subparagraph><subparagraph id="H3D67B6729EA4496CA81B832D51FE6B7D"><enum>(B)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">by redesignating paragraphs (2) through (7) as paragraphs (1) through (6), respectively.</text></subparagraph></paragraph></subsection></section></legis-body></bill>
