R. 1862</legis-num><current-chamber>IN THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES</current-chamber><action display="yes"><action-date date="20210311">March 11, 2021</action-date><action-desc><sponsor name-id="T000482">Mrs. Trahan</sponsor> introduced the following bill; which was referred to the <committee-name committee-id="HIF00">Committee on Energy and Commerce</committee-name></action-desc></action><legis-type>A BILL</legis-type><official-title display="yes">To authorize the Secretary of Health and Human Services to carry out a pilot program to improve community-based care infrastructure.</official-title></form><legis-body id="HF356BF1AA39E420C8D649203BC4B96E3" style="OLC"><section id="H3E0BC94752D84548B4886DB21BB75BAD" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Pilot program to improve community-based care infrastructure</header><subsection id="HA34EBB1DA69143C694C467E59778EB88"><enum>(a)</enum><header>In general</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">The Secretary of Health and Human Services may award grants to qualified teaching health centers (as defined in section 340H of the Public Health Service Act (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/42/256h">42 U.S.C. 256h</external-xref>)) and behavioral health care centers (as defined by the Secretary, to include both substance abuse and mental health care facilities) to support the improvement, renovation, or modernization of infrastructure at such centers, including to address COVID–19 and other subsequent public health crises.</text></subsection><subsection id="HB2499EA6A7234A02855745760C200D5A"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Authorization of appropriations</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">To carry out this section, there is authorized to be appropriated $500,000,000 for the period of fiscal years 2022 through 2026.</text></subsection></section></legis-body></bill>
