R. 1635</legis-num><current-chamber>IN THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES</current-chamber><action display="yes"><action-date date="20210308">March 8, 2021</action-date><action-desc><sponsor name-id="H001067">Mr. Hudson</sponsor> introduced the following bill; which was referred to the <committee-name committee-id="HJU00">Committee on the Judiciary</committee-name>, and in addition to the Committee on <committee-name committee-id="HED00">Education and Labor</committee-name>, for a period to be subsequently determined by the Speaker, in each case for consideration of such provisions as fall within the jurisdiction of the committee concerned</action-desc></action><legis-type>A BILL</legis-type><official-title display="yes">To increase authorization of the grant program for school security in the Omnibus Crime Control and Safe Streets Act of 1968.</official-title></form><legis-body><section id="id56FD027475C243678E870BD8637719D0" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the <quote><short-title>STOP II: Classrooms Over Conference Rooms Act</short-title></quote>.</text></section><section section-type="subsequent-section" id="idC255BDB99F76425EA152AA40AC5E9889"><enum>2.</enum><header>Grant program for school security</header><subsection id="idED98155EA7F14D4683061A35957E1BA9"><enum>(a)</enum><header>In general</header><text>Section 2705 of the Omnibus Crime Control and Safe Streets Act of 1968 (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/34/10555">34 U.S.C. 10555</external-xref>) is amended—</text><paragraph id="id93923D9DD2854DBBA15CB1BE33129ABA"><enum>(1)</enum><text>by amending subsection (a) to read as follows:</text><quoted-block style="OLC" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="idAB0C17E4460145168F0EEAD2F13ED371"><subsection id="idF8DCF665913E4B5099F8178F97343CA2"><enum>(a)</enum><header>In general</header><text>There are authorized to be appropriated $200,000,000 for each of fiscal years 2022 through 2028, of which, for each fiscal year—</text><paragraph id="idCABD0A7981324899BA921A8F3BC8D3ED"><enum>(1)</enum><text>$133,333,333 shall be made available to the BJA Director to carry out this part; and</text></paragraph><paragraph id="id43C3253396344D9693AF64E51343A0F1"><enum>(2)</enum><text>$66,666,667 shall be made available to the COPS Director to carry out this part.</text></paragraph></subsection><after-quoted-block>; and</after-quoted-block></quoted-block></paragraph><paragraph id="id751FE9F4AC3E42448FDE1B693FD97BD2"><enum>(2)</enum><text>in subsection (b) by adding at the end the following: <quote>Any funds appropriated under the Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2021, which may be used for purposes of renting conference rooms in the District of Columbia in carrying out the Department of Education Organization Act shall instead be used for the purposes in subsection (a).</quote>.</text></paragraph></subsection><subsection id="idC3213996CE964A5F88CE059DC4093BF5"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Authorization</header><text>There are authorized to be appropriated to carry out the Department of Education Organization Act, $270,000,000 (reduced by $270,000,000) for fiscal year 2022.</text></subsection></section></legis-body></bill>
