R. 1613</legis-num><current-chamber>IN THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES</current-chamber><action display="yes"><action-date date="20210308">March 8, 2021</action-date><action-desc><sponsor name-id="B000825">Mrs. Boebert</sponsor> introduced the following bill; which was referred to the <committee-name committee-id="HHM00">Committee on Homeland Security</committee-name></action-desc></action><legis-type>A BILL</legis-type><official-title display="yes">To secure the southern border of the United States against illegal border crossings, and for other purposes.</official-title></form><legis-body id="H773E7B8485F14D5FA9110E9A1111EA23" style="OLC"><section id="H48094A96C4FB430792F03F6674A068D3" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the <quote><short-title>Stop the Biden Caravan Now Act</short-title></quote>.</text></section><section id="HA2B97E4D99704A4D977AE3C76FD4C4A5"><enum>2.</enum><header>Secure southern border</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">Notwithstanding any other provision of law, the Secretary of Homeland Security, in coordination with the Secretary of Defense, shall—</text><paragraph id="HB92FC840BE9748BF8263610BB2A91043"><enum>(1)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">transfer all structures, equipment, personnel, and other barriers used to provide additional security in the District of Columbia from January 12 through the date of the enactment of this Act, including what was used for the Inauguration of Joe Biden and Kamala Harris as President and Vice President of the United States, to the southern border of the United States;</text></paragraph><paragraph id="H3E6FF647CEE74B73A67BCFFA436961EE"><enum>(2)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">determine as soon as reasonably feasible where to erect and place the structures, equipment, personnel, and other barriers in order to impede to the greatest extent possible illegal border crossings into the United States; and</text></paragraph><paragraph id="H46696C95CC544283A708D1AB0784CA50"><enum>(3)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">ensure such structures, equipment, personnel, and other barriers remain intact along the southern border until—</text><subparagraph id="H0A9DF87E0AAA42B2AC7CA5C6EE4C95D3"><enum>(A)</enum><text>a determination is made by the Secretary of Homeland Security, in consultation with the Commissioner of the U.S. Customs and Border Protection, that the southern border is secure and illegal border crossings are no longer feasible; and</text></subparagraph><subparagraph id="HCCC69A8F570048BCBDC9CC5F1D1F83D1"><enum>(B)</enum><text>such a determination made pursuant to subparagraph (A) is affirmed by a two-thirds majority vote in the House of Representatives and the Senate.</text></subparagraph></paragraph></section></legis-body></bill>
