which was referred to the <committee-name committee-id="HII00">Committee on Natural Resources</committee-name>, and in addition to the Committee on <committee-name committee-id="HSY00">Science, Space, and Technology</committee-name>, for a period to be subsequently determined by the Speaker, in each case for consideration of such provisions as fall within the jurisdiction of the committee concerned</action-desc></action><legis-type>A BILL</legis-type><official-title display="yes">To extend the authorities under the Water Infrastructure Improvements for the Nation Act of 2016 providing operational flexibility, drought relief, and other benefits to the State of California.</official-title></form><legis-body id="H2DA356031D5342E4AB6E1D42E54E569C" style="OLC"><section id="H7E40F60E9CCD4CDCB6C531FB9BD894AF" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Extension of authority</header><subsection id="HD4DC1BCF4D6F40D8A78FC531FCE07BAD"><enum>(a)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Subtitle J of the Water Infrastructure Improvements for the Nation Act (<external-xref legal-doc="public-law" parsable-cite="pl/114/322">Public Law 114–322</external-xref>) is amended—</text><paragraph id="H84544977DF274BD897651C1D3942B590"><enum>(1)</enum><text>in section 4007 (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/43/390">43 U.S.C. 390(b)</external-xref> note)—</text><subparagraph id="HF2DF1AA529F14FF6AA1A280D7DFCC9B0"><enum>(A)</enum><text>in subsection (i), by striking <quote>January 1, 2021</quote> and inserting <quote>January 1, 2028</quote>; </text></subparagraph><subparagraph id="H90154A9FE50141A09CAB6CC34E8ACA91"><enum>(B)</enum><text>in subsection (h)(1), by striking the period and inserting <quote>; and</quote>; </text></subparagraph><subparagraph id="HD32D3390B5394F2A81696CB21CF4D016"><enum>(C)</enum><text>by redesignating subsection (h)(2) as (h)(3); and</text></subparagraph><subparagraph id="H625746F5369643D0892B1366FA68FA5F"><enum>(D)</enum><text>by adding after subsection (h)(1) the following:</text><quoted-block id="H304ED28E95F644399DE0C2E51A9A168D" style="OLC"><paragraph id="HF9456B7639A54EBEB31C465C1E770FC1"><enum>(2)</enum><text>There is authorized to be appropriated $134,000,000 for each fiscal years 2022 through 2028.</text></paragraph><after-quoted-block>;</after-quoted-block></quoted-block></subparagraph></paragraph><paragraph id="H17B463431FC14E1DA4789E4D5D610FE0"><enum>(2)</enum><text>in section 4011(e)(2), by inserting <quote>projects found feasible under the provisions of section 4007,</quote> after <quote>construction of water storage</quote>; and</text></paragraph><paragraph id="H2514B4B6880B4649A06C4F174BDC27D9"><enum>(3)</enum><text>in section 4013 (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/43/390">43 U.S.C. 390(b)</external-xref> note)—</text><subparagraph id="HA9280F9E0DD9464EB4D138820995D06E"><enum>(A)</enum><text>in the first sentence, by striking <quote>the date that is 5 years after the date of its enactment</quote> and inserting <quote>December 31, 2028</quote>; and</text></subparagraph><subparagraph id="HFBBF3486EDF64049A40F4149C956BF13"><enum>(B)</enum><text>in paragraph (1), by striking <quote>10 years after the date of its enactment</quote> and inserting <quote>on December 31, 2033</quote>.</text></subparagraph></paragraph></subsection><subsection id="HCF1DD8CD819445D3A5A35452A22E40E3"><enum>(b)</enum><text>Section 4(a)(1)(F) of the Water Desalination Act of 1996 (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/42/10301">42 U.S.C. 10301</external-xref> note; <external-xref legal-doc="public-law" parsable-cite="pl/104/298">Public Law 104–298</external-xref>), as amended by section 4009(a) of the WIIN Act (<external-xref legal-doc="public-law" parsable-cite="pl/114/322">Public Law 114–322</external-xref>), is further amended by striking <quote>$30,000,000 of funding is authorized to remain available until expended; and</quote> and inserting <quote>$12,000,000 is authorized to be appropriated for each of fiscal years 2022 through 2028.</quote>.</text></subsection><subsection id="H9558937022E742E3B617A83C7111A1EA"><enum>(c)</enum><text>Section 1602 of the Reclamation Wastewater and Groundwater Study and Facilities Act (title XVI of <external-xref legal-doc="public-law" parsable-cite="pl/102/575">Public Law 102–575</external-xref>; <external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/43/390h">43 U.S.C. 390h</external-xref> et seq.), as amended by section 4009(c) of the WIIN Act (<external-xref legal-doc="public-law" parsable-cite="pl/114/322">Public Law 114–322</external-xref>), is further amended in subsection (g) by striking <quote>$50,000,000 to remain available until expended</quote> and inserting <quote>$20,000,000 for each of fiscal years 2022 through 2028</quote>.</text></subsection></section></legis-body></bill>
