R. 1533</legis-num><current-chamber>IN THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES</current-chamber><action display="yes"><action-date date="20210303">March 3, 2021</action-date><action-desc><sponsor name-id="S000168">Ms. Salazar</sponsor> (for herself, <cosponsor name-id="D000629">Ms. Davids of Kansas</cosponsor>, <cosponsor name-id="M001204">Mr. Meuser</cosponsor>, <cosponsor name-id="C001119">Ms. Craig</cosponsor>, and <cosponsor name-id="D000600">Mr. Diaz-Balart</cosponsor>) introduced the following bill; which was referred to the <committee-name committee-id="HSM00">Committee on Small Business</committee-name></action-desc></action><legis-type>A BILL</legis-type><official-title display="yes">To extend the deferment of EIDL loans made in response to COVID–19 from 1 year to 2 years.</official-title></form><legis-body id="HD27A4963B02E4E8D851C801410D71930" style="OLC"><section id="H4D08DF68284D4388889BFBED413BE717" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the <quote><short-title>COVID Economic Injury Disaster Loan Relief Act</short-title></quote>.</text></section><section id="H4C4F9C0F412A43C097F7D795016B20BE"><enum>2.</enum><header>Extend EIDL deferment</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">With respect to any loan made under section 7(b)(2) of the Small Business Act (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/15/636">15 U.S.C. 636(b)(2)</external-xref>) in response to COVID–19, the payment of principal and interest charges shall be suspended for the 2-year period beginning on the date on which such loan is or was made.</text></section></legis-body></bill>
