Short title

This Act may be cited as the 21st Century NICS Act.

Requirement that the NICS system search the National Data Exchange database in conducting background checks

Section 103(e)(1) of the Brady Handgun Violence Prevention Act (34 U.S.C. 40901(e)(1)) is amended by adding at the end the following:(L)

The system established under this section may search the database of the National Data Exchange in conducting a background check under this section..
