R. 1479</legis-num><current-chamber>IN THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES</current-chamber><action display="yes"><action-date date="20210302">March 2, 2021</action-date><action-desc><sponsor name-id="B001282">Mr. Barr</sponsor> introduced the following bill; which was referred to the <committee-name committee-id="HFA00">Committee on Foreign Affairs</committee-name></action-desc></action><legis-type>A BILL</legis-type><official-title display="yes">To prohibit the use of Federal funds relating to rejoining the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action with Iran, and for other purposes.</official-title></form><legis-body id="HD3F381F41B7F45D68FB1FB078B190440" style="OLC"><section id="H39C16C0A3993424DBCFEC1CE26539936" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the <quote><short-title>Iran Nuclear Deal Advice and Consent Act of 2021</short-title></quote>. </text></section><section id="HD50E7540D47147E5B2C7E646B1BCFB44"><enum>2.</enum><header>Prohibition</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">Notwithstanding any other provision of law, no Federal funds may be obligated or expended in furtherance of rejoining the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action signed at Vienna on July 14, 2015, by Iran and by France, Germany, the Russian Federation, the People’s Republic of China, the United Kingdom, and the United States (including all implementing materials and agreements related to the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action) (in this section referred to as the <quote>JCPOA</quote>) unless the Biden Administration submits in writing to the House of Representatives and the Senate its commitment to submitting any JCPOA successor agreement to the Senate for advise and consent as a treaty rather than as an international agreement.</text></section></legis-body></bill>
