R. 1327</legis-num><current-chamber>IN THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES</current-chamber><action display="yes"><action-date date="20210225">February 25, 2021</action-date><action-desc><sponsor name-id="B001285">Ms. Brownley</sponsor> introduced the following bill; which was referred to the <committee-name committee-id="HGO00">Committee on Oversight and Reform</committee-name></action-desc></action><legis-type>A BILL</legis-type><official-title display="yes">To amend the Energy Policy Act of 2005 to update the Federal purchase requirement to ensure the use of 100 percent renewable energy by 2050, and for other purposes.</official-title></form><legis-body id="HA77C9E359DF641FA95816C17C41E5447" style="OLC"><section id="HADCFC9DD7FC6441CB490D87EE497AA27" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the <quote><short-title>Green Energy for Federal Buildings Act</short-title></quote>.</text></section><section id="H2F137718FB7D4A8C9E14A122F9843DAE"><enum>2.</enum><header>Federal purchase requirement</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">Section 203 of the Energy Policy Act of 2005 (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/42/15852">42 U.S.C. 15852</external-xref>) is amended—</text><paragraph id="HDC97BFB3EAAE4C189BF1FB7EDDFAA053"><enum>(1)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">in subsection (a)—</text><subparagraph id="HD1E57546CC1544688E1DA1EB81AF3D98"><enum>(A)</enum><text>by amending paragraph (3) to read as follows:</text><quoted-block display-inline="no-display-inline" id="HBEF6E7F527EE44F0B7E0179472F9653D" style="OLC"><paragraph id="HB69616C59D754A04BEE7608A15BBEE14"><enum>(3)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Not less than 7.5 percent in fiscal years 2013 through 2019.</text></paragraph><after-quoted-block>; and</after-quoted-block></quoted-block></subparagraph><subparagraph id="H031304AD49F341EBA8267C25BF05EA75"><enum>(B)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">by adding at the end the following:</text><quoted-block display-inline="no-display-inline" id="HD0DA6EC721784C00BB32A75C819B8A02" style="OLC"><paragraph id="HCA194E6B276D4D58BAC9F5E3CDA13368"><enum>(4)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Not less than 35 percent in fiscal years 2030 through 2039.</text></paragraph><paragraph id="HC20A0AE796EA47CFB1B4DA615E9F9F44"><enum>(5)</enum><text>Not less than 75 percent in fiscal years 2040 through 2049.</text></paragraph><paragraph id="H3E6074A8F6A24FBC843B79AA6EBB52CB"><enum>(6)</enum><text>Not less than 100 percent in fiscal year 2050 and each fiscal year thereafter.</text></paragraph><after-quoted-block>; and</after-quoted-block></quoted-block></subparagraph></paragraph><paragraph id="H44A86198C7BB48C9B7C3BE38CA6BD8B3"><enum>(2)</enum><text>by amending subsection (c) to read as follows:</text><quoted-block display-inline="no-display-inline" id="HC58E23E40C214389BF525275B4FDA0EA" style="OLC"><subsection id="H5470FF2540504653BC18C8F620B69283"><enum>(c)</enum><header>Feasibility</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">In carrying out this section, the Secretary shall seek to ensure that, to the maximum extent economically feasible and technically practicable, the Federal Government consumes renewable energy produced—</text><paragraph id="H5396F761CD784A919D77B13B16F9A512"><enum>(1)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">on-site at a Federal facility;</text></paragraph><paragraph id="H2A6F5030AC794F19A65B224848068224"><enum>(2)</enum><text>on Federal lands; or</text></paragraph><paragraph id="H9B04AA99392E4303A8062131A723E85C"><enum>(3)</enum><text>on Indian land as defined in section 2601 of the Energy Policy Act of 1992 (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/25/3501">25 U.S.C. 3501</external-xref>).</text></paragraph></subsection><after-quoted-block>.</after-quoted-block></quoted-block></paragraph></section></legis-body></bill>
