R. 1198</legis-num><current-chamber>IN THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES</current-chamber><action display="yes"><action-date date="20210222">February 22, 2021</action-date><action-desc><sponsor name-id="G000588">Mr. Gonzalez of Ohio</sponsor> (for himself, <cosponsor name-id="K000382">Ms. Kuster</cosponsor>, <cosponsor name-id="R000610">Mr. Reschenthaler</cosponsor>, and <cosponsor name-id="M001208">Mrs. McBath</cosponsor>) introduced the following bill; which was referred to the <committee-name committee-id="HJU00">Committee on the Judiciary</committee-name></action-desc></action><legis-type>A BILL</legis-type><official-title display="yes">To amend title 18, United States Code, to require a provider of a report to the CyberTipline related to online sexual exploitation of children to preserve the contents of such report for 180 days, and for other purposes.</official-title></form><legis-body id="H4BD34B9024C648558C4D67795DD5EC4A" style="OLC"><section id="HBA4D63A46B4845E38DB5E7C00E67A8E1" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the <quote><short-title>Eliminate Network Distribution of Child Exploitation Act</short-title></quote> or the <quote><short-title>END Child Exploitation Act</short-title></quote>.</text></section><section id="H2570F207F68745D9A3D82696149587A2"><enum>2.</enum><header>Preservation of reports to CyberTipline related to online sexual exploitation of children</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">Section 2258A(h) of title 18, United States Code, is amended—</text><paragraph id="HF6CD8D3614B240E6A9879D653A0843A8"><enum>(1)</enum><text>in paragraph (1), by striking <quote>90 days</quote> and inserting <quote>180 days</quote>; and</text></paragraph><paragraph id="HA948C52034374BE6AAD237E6DF7B6CBB"><enum>(2)</enum><text>by adding at the end the following:</text><quoted-block display-inline="no-display-inline" id="H02D8C46441104FD4BA619FB0C2E98FBD" style="USC"><paragraph id="H1D18ABAD09AA4B128F3343ECC1A17173"><enum>(5)</enum><header>Extension of preservation</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">A provider of a report to the CyberTipline may voluntarily preserve the contents provided in the report (including any comingled content described in paragraph (2)) for longer than 180 days after the submission to the CyberTipline for the purpose of reducing the proliferation of online child sexual exploitation or preventing the online sexual exploitation of children.</text></paragraph><after-quoted-block>.</after-quoted-block></quoted-block></paragraph></section></legis-body></bill>
