R. 1164</legis-num><current-chamber>IN THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES</current-chamber><action display="yes"><action-date date="20210218">February 18, 2021</action-date><action-desc><sponsor name-id="N000147">Ms. Norton</sponsor> (for herself and <cosponsor name-id="R000515">Mr. Rush</cosponsor>) introduced the following bill; which was referred to the <committee-name committee-id="HII00">Committee on Natural Resources</committee-name></action-desc></action><legis-type>A BILL</legis-type><official-title display="yes">To require the Secretary of the Interior to remove the Emancipation Memorial from Lincoln Park in the District of Columbia, and for other purposes.</official-title></form><legis-body id="HE18D0CE633044786915BD2178E9A08B6" style="OLC"><section id="H7FBD87805A1942B19447D318520E7E38" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the <quote><short-title>Emancipation Statue Removal Act</short-title></quote>. </text></section><section id="H531DBC0EE0854281B0E1F6939A9BEF03"><enum>2.</enum><header>Removal of Emancipation Memorial</header><subsection id="H40CEABD2B1C8454788D1E19D964197AE"><enum>(a)</enum><header>Removal</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">The Secretary of the Interior shall ensure that the Emancipation Memorial is removed from Lincoln Park in the District of Columbia.</text></subsection><subsection id="HE663A6DA569A4AE0ABE234ADB8DA8D27"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Donation</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">The Secretary shall donate the Emancipation Memorial to a museum or other similar entity. The recipient of the Emancipation Memorial may not store, display, or exhibit the Emancipation Memorial outside. If the Emancipation Memorial is stored, displayed, or exhibited outside, ownership of the Emancipation Memorial will revert back to the Federal Government.</text></subsection></section></legis-body></bill>
