R. 1125</legis-num><current-chamber>IN THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES</current-chamber><action display="yes"><action-date date="20210218">February 18, 2021</action-date><action-desc><sponsor name-id="G000582">Miss González-Colón</sponsor> introduced the following bill; which was referred to the <committee-name committee-id="HVR00">Committee on Veterans' Affairs</committee-name></action-desc></action><legis-type>A BILL</legis-type><official-title display="yes">To amend the VA MISSION Act of 2018 to expand the veterans healing veterans medical access and scholarship program to include more students and schools.</official-title></form><legis-body id="H6B6464FCD7EC43E292689D362BF9E297" style="OLC"><section id="HCB44502FFD884AB499935DFD1A3E92D0" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Veterans Healing Veterans Medical Access and Scholarship Program</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">Section 304 of the VA MISSION Act of 2018 (<external-xref legal-doc="public-law" parsable-cite="pl/115/182">Public Law 115–182</external-xref>; <external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/38/7601">38 U.S.C. 7601</external-xref> note) is amended—</text><paragraph id="HAA398E49E0B04AB78E20F6D4209A8BB2"><enum>(1)</enum><text>in subsection (a), by striking <quote>18 eligible veterans</quote> and inserting <quote>28 eligible veterans</quote>; and</text></paragraph><paragraph id="H7AC2B2E8C1A54706B824307C7E20DFEF"><enum>(2)</enum><text>in subsection (g)—</text><subparagraph id="H88CE1F17F56440FAA384C4F380A39527"><enum>(A)</enum><text>in the subsection heading, by striking <quote><header-in-text level="subsection" style="OLC">Covered medical schools</header-in-text></quote> and inserting <quote><header-in-text level="subsection" style="OLC">Definitions</header-in-text></quote>;</text></subparagraph><subparagraph id="H5CED2D79F3584C0B876A6D86F3404914"><enum>(B)</enum><text>in paragraph (1), by redesignating subparagraphs (A) through (E) as clauses (i) through (v), respectively (and by moving such clauses two ems to the right);</text></subparagraph><subparagraph id="HB035B95364334D03A4584D64A02ED431"><enum>(C)</enum><text>by redesignating paragraphs (1) through (5) as subparagraphs (A) through (E), respectively (and by moving such subparagraphs two ems to the right);</text></subparagraph><subparagraph id="HFC9336074F4341EDAA93E2D7ADD0CF17"><enum>(D)</enum><text>by striking <quote>section, the term</quote> and inserting the following:</text><quoted-block display-inline="yes-display-inline" id="H6C043234FE0648F8BD3A1A9EC98E30F9" style="OLC"><text>section:</text><paragraph id="H16EE0308225A47239173FCA485784E2A"><enum>(1)</enum><header>Covered medical school</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">The term</text></paragraph><after-quoted-block>; and</after-quoted-block></quoted-block></subparagraph><subparagraph id="H791F3BE372BF48B698A23D64F2BDA4C4"><enum>(E)</enum><text>by adding at the end the following:</text><quoted-block display-inline="no-display-inline" id="HAA1E5C31169E45D78E2AFD9195A9DF87" style="OLC"><subparagraph id="H6D2C26CC36F040CC91C1878C6B698451"><enum>(F)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">University of Puerto Rico School of Medicine.</text></subparagraph><subparagraph id="H9929049805304365AFD59A7DA425A47E"><enum>(G)</enum><text>Universidad Central del Caribe School of Medicine.</text></subparagraph><subparagraph id="H671FEC929915473D95072B23976F332D"><enum>(H)</enum><text>San Juan Bautista School of Medicine.</text></subparagraph><subparagraph id="H2D6C18EF33BD42A89AE0ECAD87B9E7FE"><enum>(I)</enum><text>Ponce Health Sciences University.</text></subparagraph><subparagraph id="HAD2F182878C340AA965A5CA3C3FC745D"><enum>(J)</enum><text>University of Texas Health Sciences Center at San Antonio.</text></subparagraph><paragraph id="H96E4DE5C403D43169D4DF4F63DC1B309"><enum>(2)</enum><header>State</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">The term <quote>State</quote> has the meaning given that term in section 101 of title 38, United States Code.</text></paragraph><after-quoted-block>.</after-quoted-block></quoted-block></subparagraph></paragraph></section></legis-body></bill>
