R. 1117</legis-num><current-chamber>IN THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES</current-chamber><action display="yes"><action-date date="20210218">February 18, 2021</action-date><action-desc><sponsor name-id="D000623">Mr. DeSaulnier</sponsor> introduced the following bill; which was referred to the <committee-name committee-id="HII00">Committee on Natural Resources</committee-name></action-desc></action><legis-type>A BILL</legis-type><official-title display="yes">To amend the Rosie the Riveter/World War II Home Front National Historical Park Establishment Act of 2000 to provide for additional areas to be added to the park, and for other purposes.</official-title></form><legis-body id="H0DE0911D3FAA45A3A354F81AF0E1C1B7" style="OLC"><section id="H7DFEF87B4C964EA2AA1A46D895877ACC" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Rosie the Riveter/World War II Home Front National Historical Park Additions</header><subsection id="H811CC0B908AB4C3B9C92CD1CE4C7FB30"><enum>(a)</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the <quote><short-title>Rosie the Riveter National Historic Site Expansion Act</short-title></quote>.</text></subsection><subsection id="H8D0F8056C6494BBEBCE73C0D101F3417"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Additions</header><text>The Rosie the Riveter/World War II Home Front National Historical Park Establishment Act of 2000 (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/16/410ggg">16 U.S.C. 410ggg</external-xref> et seq.) is amended as follows:</text><paragraph id="HEE834A7ECE124C688A9D54C3EF95C4F8"><enum>(1)</enum><text>In section 2(b), by adding at the end the following: <quote>Not later than 180 days after areas are added to the park administratively or by Federal law, the Secretary shall update the map to include the added areas.</quote>.</text></paragraph><paragraph id="HD5C77CC624D547708774B3EA4863D9B7"><enum>(2)</enum><text>By adding at the end of section 2, the following:</text><quoted-block style="OLC" id="H1103455300854462ACF6A4D2148C6782" display-inline="no-display-inline"><subsection id="H0C42D3C95315427A9AB4849DCB3D329C"><enum>(c)</enum><header>Additional areas included</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">In addition to areas included under subsection (b), the park shall include the following:</text><paragraph id="H862F215EA5BA45488A96EA5761C8FD5E"><enum>(1)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">The Nystrom Elementary School–The Maritime Building, as listed on the National Register of Historic Places.</text></paragraph><paragraph id="H897380555AAE458FAA5326DDB2364334"><enum>(2)</enum><text>Such other areas as the Secretary deems appropriate.</text></paragraph></subsection><after-quoted-block>.</after-quoted-block></quoted-block></paragraph><paragraph id="H20E2F19600284B9CB5DA3495836DA7CA"><enum>(3)</enum><text>By amending section 3(e)(2) to read as follows:</text><quoted-block style="OLC" id="HA87479C219FE40BCB359CC5126CB4EBB" display-inline="no-display-inline"><paragraph id="H1129AEA1A551427188F23A45DE4EFD11"><enum>(2)</enum><header>Other property</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Within the boundaries of the park, the Secretary may acquire lands, improvements, waters, or interests therein, by donation, purchase, exchange or transfer. Any lands, or interests therein, owned by the State of California or any political subdivision thereof, may be acquired only by donation. When any tract of land is only partly within such boundaries, the Secretary may acquire all or any portion of the land outside of such boundaries in order to minimize the payment of severance costs. Land so acquired outside of the boundaries may be exchanged by the Secretary for non-Federal lands within the boundaries. Any portion of land acquired outside the boundaries and not used for exchange shall be reported to the General Services Administration for disposal for not less than fair market value under <external-xref legal-doc="usc-chapter" parsable-cite="usc-chapter/40/1">chapter 1</external-xref> of title 40, United States Code.</text></paragraph><after-quoted-block>.</after-quoted-block></quoted-block></paragraph></subsection></section></legis-body></bill>
