<official-title display="yes">To amend the State Department Basic Authorities Act of 1956 to authorize rewards under the Department of State’s rewards program relating to information regarding individuals or entities engaged in activities in contravention of United States or United Nations sanctions, and for other purposes.</official-title>

<section id="H20F79643D7C64FC1A4B1B3AF12FD95DC" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the <quote><short-title>Bassam Barabandi Rewards for Justice Act</short-title></quote>.</text></section> <section id="H25BDC7BBDA034FF9B1F8A16DAFD26D64" section-type="subsequent-section"><enum>2.</enum><header>Amendment to Department of State rewards program</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">Subsection (b) of section 36 of the State Department Basic Authorities Act of 1956 (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/22/2708">22 U.S.C. 2708</external-xref>) is amended—</text> 
<paragraph id="H156DFB503C734031A10BB8BB3D86978A"><enum>(1)</enum><text>in paragraph (11), by striking <quote>or</quote> after the semicolon at the end;</text></paragraph> <paragraph id="H1E65FDF8B7A043868A4913A27784CEB3"><enum>(2)</enum><text>in paragraph (12), by striking the period at the end and inserting <quote>; or</quote>; and</text></paragraph> 
<paragraph id="H70018A717941437892A04276FCBC4A36"><enum>(3)</enum><text>by adding at the end the following new paragraph:</text> <quoted-block display-inline="no-display-inline" id="HFCE5CF12937B44CEBC626F6F4CA7F0F3" style="OLC"> <paragraph id="HE2B3AB7691CD496DA8C4B86A09DF8C31"><enum>(13)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">the identification or location of an individual or entity that—</text> 
<subparagraph id="HFAD6A20E6AEE4C68A0B0375A4F32C1F6"><enum>(A)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">knowingly, directly or indirectly, imports, exports, or reexports to, into, or from any country any goods, services, or technology controlled for export by the United States because of the use of such goods, services, or technology in contravention of a United States or United Nations sanction; or</text></subparagraph> <subparagraph id="H567A2F1469BE4FE5BEDCFB5C4FD698AC"><enum>(B)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">knowingly, directly or indirectly, provides training, advice, or other services or assistance, or engages in significant financial transactions, relating to any such goods, services, or technology in contravention of such sanction.</text></subparagraph></paragraph><after-quoted-block>.</after-quoted-block></quoted-block></paragraph></section>
