RES. 16</legis-num><current-chamber>IN THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES</current-chamber><action display="yes"><action-date date="20210115">January 15, 2021</action-date><action-desc><sponsor name-id="M001137">Mr. Meeks</sponsor> (for himself, <cosponsor name-id="C001078">Mr. Connolly</cosponsor>, <cosponsor name-id="D000610">Mr. Deutch</cosponsor>, <cosponsor name-id="L000582">Mr. Lieu</cosponsor>, <cosponsor name-id="K000389">Mr. Khanna</cosponsor>, <cosponsor name-id="L000551">Ms. Lee of California</cosponsor>, and <cosponsor name-id="M000312">Mr. McGovern</cosponsor>) submitted the following joint resolution; which was referred to the <committee-name committee-id="HFA00">Committee on Foreign Affairs</committee-name></action-desc></action><legis-type>JOINT RESOLUTION</legis-type><official-title display="yes">Providing for congressional disapproval of the proposed transfer to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, the Kingdom of Spain, and the Italian Republic of certain defense articles and services.</official-title></form><resolution-body style="traditional" id="H01E67380C5DE40C9B2ECE08DBE39799C"><section display-inline="yes-display-inline" section-type="undesignated-section" id="H47C4AA4A3964492892BA33E77DA8492D"><enum/><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">That the issuance of a manufacturing license, technical assistance license, or export license with respect to any of the following proposed agreements or transfers to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, the Kingdom of Spain, and the Italian Republic is prohibited:</text><paragraph id="HEB4706649880472FB74185DFA3C97858"><enum>(1)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">The transfer of the following defense articles, including defense services and technical data, described in Transmittal No. 19–105, submitted to Congress pursuant to subsections (c) and (d) of section 36 of the Arms Export Control Act (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/22/2776">22 U.S.C. 2776</external-xref>):</text><subparagraph id="H07D5048EBFD7416C8D0E55E9381184F3" commented="no"><enum>(A)</enum><text>Assembly, design, development, intermediate level maintenance, manufacture, modification, operation, repair, testing, and demilitarization of components for and full systems of Paveway II, Enhanced Paveway II, Paveway III, Enhanced Paveway III, and Paveway IV Weapons Systems for the Royal Saudi Air Force F–15, Tornado, and Eurofighter Typhoon aircraft.</text></subparagraph><subparagraph id="H34E322D4C1D64F32951357D92C1FD8F1" commented="no"><enum>(B)</enum><text>The transfer of 7,500 additional full-up-rounds of Paveway IV to Saudi Arabia.</text></subparagraph></paragraph></section></resolution-body></resolution>
