RES. 15</legis-num><current-chamber>IN THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES</current-chamber><action display="yes"><action-date date="20210205">February 5, 2021</action-date><action-desc><sponsor name-id="M001159">Mrs. Rodgers of Washington</sponsor> (for herself, <cosponsor name-id="N000189">Mr. Newhouse</cosponsor>, <cosponsor name-id="H001056">Ms. Herrera Beutler</cosponsor>, <cosponsor name-id="F000469">Mr. Fulcher</cosponsor>, and <cosponsor name-id="S001148">Mr. Simpson</cosponsor>) submitted the following concurrent resolution; which was referred to the <committee-name committee-id="HIF00">Committee on Energy and Commerce</committee-name></action-desc></action><legis-type>CONCURRENT RESOLUTION</legis-type><official-title display="yes">Expressing the sense of Congress that hydropower is an essential renewable resource and the United States should protect existing hydropower resources.</official-title></form><resolution-body style="traditional" id="H24408E8423874C24A0C72FE6C8EBCB5B"><section display-inline="yes-display-inline" section-type="undesignated-section" id="H1BF362A18A3B4E5C965FA81EB222FE18"><enum/><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">That is the sense of the Congress that—</text><paragraph id="H49AD223600D840D6AB4544096A11200A"><enum>(1)</enum><text>hydropower is a renewable resource for purposes of all Federal programs and is an essential source of energy in the United States; and</text></paragraph><paragraph id="HE88A3DECD6044F2F88B7F3FD1BE75AA8"><enum>(2)</enum><text>the United States should protect existing hydropower resources and increase substantially the capacity and generation of clean, renewable hydropower resources to address a changing climate and improve environmental quality in the United States.</text></paragraph></section></resolution-body></resolution>
