<congress display="yes">116th CONGRESS</congress><session display="yes">2d Session</session><legis-num display="yes">S. 4148</legis-num><current-chamber display="no">IN THE SENATE OF THE UNITED STATES</current-chamber><legis-type display="yes">AN ACT</legis-type><official-title display="yes">To extend the Chemical Facility Anti-Terrorism Standards Program of the Department of Homeland Security, and for other purposes.</official-title></form><legis-body display-enacting-clause="yes-display-enacting-clause" style="OLC"><section section-type="section-one" id="id729276f986fb45e983240b606761056c" commented="no" display-inline="no-display-inline"><enum>1.</enum><header display-inline="yes-display-inline">Extension of chemical facility anti-terrorism standards program of the department of homeland security</header><subsection id="id1D910DEFF23647F3B34E27A4E2E2AAF8" commented="no" display-inline="no-display-inline"><enum>(a)</enum><header display-inline="yes-display-inline">In general</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Section 5 of the Protecting and Securing Chemical Facilities from Terrorist Attacks Act of 2014 (<external-xref legal-doc="public-law" parsable-cite="pl/113/254">Public Law 113–254</external-xref>; <external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/6/621">6 U.S.C. 621</external-xref> note) is amended by striking <quote>July 23, 2020</quote> and inserting <quote>July 27, 2023</quote>.</text></subsection><subsection id="id41465C5BBC364ACCB5621516D9EA5AFA" commented="no" display-inline="no-display-inline"><enum>(b)</enum><header display-inline="yes-display-inline">Effective date</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">The amendment made by subsection (a) shall take effect on the date that is 1 day after the date of enactment of this Act. </text></subsection></section></legis-body><attestation><attestation-group><attestation-date date="20200701" chamber="Senate">Passed the Senate July 1, 2020.</attestation-date><attestor display="no"></attestor><role>Secretary</role></attestation-group></attestation><endorsement display="yes"></endorsement></bill>
