<distribution-code display="yes">II</distribution-code><congress>116th CONGRESS</congress><session>2d Session</session><legis-num>S. 4116</legis-num><current-chamber>IN THE SENATE OF THE UNITED STATES</current-chamber><action><action-date date="20200630">June 30, 2020</action-date><action-desc><sponsor name-id="S308">Mr. Cardin</sponsor> (for himself, <cosponsor name-id="S270">Mr. Schumer</cosponsor>, <cosponsor name-id="S324">Mrs. Shaheen</cosponsor>, <cosponsor name-id="S337">Mr. Coons</cosponsor>, <cosponsor name-id="S402">Ms. Rosen</cosponsor>, and <cosponsor name-id="S252">Ms. Collins</cosponsor>) introduced the following bill; which was read twice, considered, read the third time, and passed</action-desc></action><legis-type>A BILL</legis-type><official-title>To extend the authority for commitments for the paycheck protection program and separate amounts authorized for other loans under section 7(a) of the Small Business Act, and for other purposes.</official-title></form><legis-body><section id="idFBA6E2C69E9B484788B33633666E20A8" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Extending authority for commitments for the paycheck protection program and separating amounts authorized for other 7(a) loans</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">Section 1102(b) of title I of division A of the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act (<external-xref legal-doc="public-law" parsable-cite="pl/116/136">Public Law 116–136</external-xref>) is amended to read as follows:</text><quoted-block style="OLC" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="id6faf84a1f4d24996a65d7fd5e82937fd"><subsection id="id7fb2373e6a594ff5a868d6765230d35f"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Commitments for PPP and other 7(a) loans</header><paragraph id="idC23B1BBE5B5C484A9835E872885B4AFD"><enum>(1)</enum><header>PPP loans</header><text>During the period beginning on February 15, 2020 and ending on August 8, 2020, the amount authorized for commitments under paragraph (36) of section 7(a) of the Small Business Act (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/15/636">15 U.S.C. 636(a)</external-xref>) shall be $659,000,000,000.</text></paragraph><paragraph id="idC9FF1503D6034D11BB5BE85BC209E38B" commented="no" display-inline="no-display-inline"><enum>(2)</enum><header display-inline="yes-display-inline">Other 7(a) loans</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">During fiscal year 2020, the amount authorized for commitments for section 7(a) of the Small Business Act (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/15/636">15 U.S.C. 636(a)</external-xref>) under the heading <quote><header-in-text style="OLC" level="appropriations-small">Business loans program account</header-in-text></quote> under the heading <quote><header-in-text style="OLC" level="appropriations-intermediate">Small business administration</header-in-text></quote> under title V of the Consolidated Appropriations Act, 2020 (Public Law 116– 93; 133 Stat. 2475) shall apply with respect to any commitments under such section 7(a) other than under paragraph (36) of such section 7(a).</text></paragraph></subsection><after-quoted-block>.</after-quoted-block></quoted-block></section></legis-body></bill>
