<distribution-code display="yes">II</distribution-code><calendar>Calendar No. 479</calendar><congress>116th CONGRESS</congress><session>2d Session</session><legis-num>S. 2638</legis-num><associated-doc role="report">[Report No. 116–232]</associated-doc><current-chamber>IN THE SENATE OF THE UNITED STATES</current-chamber><action><action-date date="20191017">October 17, 2019</action-date><action-desc><sponsor name-id="S386">Ms. Duckworth</sponsor> (for herself, <cosponsor name-id="S357">Mrs. Fischer</cosponsor>, <cosponsor name-id="S375">Mr. Daines</cosponsor>, <cosponsor name-id="S341">Mr. Blumenthal</cosponsor>, and <cosponsor name-id="S380">Mr. Peters</cosponsor>) introduced the following bill; which was read twice and referred to the <committee-name committee-id="SSCM00">Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation</committee-name></action-desc></action><action stage="Reported-in-Senate"><action-date>June 10, 2020</action-date><action-desc>Reported by <sponsor name-id="S318">Mr. Wicker</sponsor>, without amendment</action-desc></action><legis-type>A BILL</legis-type><official-title>To amend title 49, United State Code, to require small hub airports to construct areas for nursing mothers, and for other purposes.</official-title></form><legis-body display-enacting-clause="yes-display-enacting-clause" id="H5054913E7D1C4A018C969BAE0C24C25D" style="OLC"><section id="HBBAC86622C2946EBAB26F6824A3BBB9B" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the <quote><short-title>Friendly Airports for Mothers Improvement Act</short-title></quote>.</text></section><section id="H3D42FD4B94DA48149605347B4DD56142"><enum>2.</enum><header>Mothers’ rooms</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">Section 47107(w) of title 49, United States Code, is amended—</text><paragraph id="HA3ECD6E9A86D4185B0E8EF985B907C06"><enum>(1)</enum><text>in paragraph (1) by striking <quote>In fiscal year 2021</quote> and all that follows through <quote>the Secretary of Transportation</quote> and inserting <quote>The Secretary of Transportation</quote>;</text></paragraph><paragraph id="H6C56B8A446A14E5896A7DE034E53681E"><enum>(2)</enum><text>in paragraph (1)(B) by striking <quote>one men’s and one women’s</quote> and inserting <quote>at least one men’s and at least one women’s</quote>;</text></paragraph><paragraph id="H9DD20F66602540E1BE4E905EC21B093A"><enum>(3)</enum><text>by striking paragraph (2)(A) and inserting the following:</text><quoted-block id="HAD3F9A5ED95743799C763F25C6F169C4" style="OLC"><subparagraph id="H9CD28C83555D43D9B12423759A6F56FF"><enum>(A)</enum><header>Airport size</header><clause id="idC2232E86D3E7473FBACC9588AB627F14"><enum>(i)</enum><header>In general</header><text>The requirements in paragraph (1) shall only apply to applications submitted by the airport sponsor of—</text><subclause id="HE198BFF30B794368A6B9424E5AB1D42E"><enum>(I)</enum><text>a medium or large hub airport in fiscal year 2021 and each fiscal year thereafter; and</text></subclause><subclause id="H664E899A46EC404BA285C1B68AD18EFF"><enum>(II)</enum><text>an applicable small hub airport in fiscal year 2023 and each fiscal year thereafter.</text></subclause></clause><clause id="idEF90D64F254E448B88A44AC1F2B70F03"><enum>(ii)</enum><header>Applicable small hub airport defined</header><text>In clause (i)(II), the term <quote>applicable small hub airport</quote> means an airport designated as a small hub airport during—</text><subclause id="id6EFAF1EED4F1475DBE688FC957E71D2D"><enum>(I)</enum><text>the 3-year period consisting of 2020, 2021, and 2022; or</text></subclause><subclause id="id897515B3641D4B15A631D8FCB6BC694A"><enum>(II)</enum><text>any consecutive 3-year period beginning after 2020.</text></subclause></clause></subparagraph><after-quoted-block>;</after-quoted-block></quoted-block></paragraph><paragraph id="H920481EC6A164602A7EAB2DB0A4D5260"><enum>(4)</enum><text>in paragraph (2)(B) by striking <quote>the date of enactment of this Act complies with the requirement in paragraph (1)</quote> and inserting <quote>October 5, 2018, complies with the requirement in paragraph (1)(A)</quote>; and</text></paragraph><paragraph commented="no" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="H5C711F27830A420D9006E30F89155073"><enum>(5)</enum><text>in paragraph (2)(C) by striking <quote>paragraph (1)</quote> and inserting <quote>paragraph (1)(A)</quote>.</text></paragraph></section></legis-body><endorsement><action-date>June 10, 2020</action-date><action-desc>Reported without amendment</action-desc></endorsement></bill>
