 <section commented="no" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="idB48C583B3CB64FB49566BCF86871C18A" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header display-inline="yes-display-inline">Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the <quote><short-title>Alaska Remote Generator Reliability and Protection Act</short-title></quote>.</text> </section><section commented="no" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="id632768e5e8434e6faaaef8e3dae68f39" section-type="subsequent-section"><enum>2.</enum><header display-inline="yes-display-inline">Revision of regulations required</header> <subsection commented="no" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="ide33e5bcba1c34f4e8385cb59e5ee882d"><enum>(a)</enum><header display-inline="yes-display-inline">In general</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">The Administrator of the Environmental Protection Agency shall revise section 60.4216(c) of title 40, Code of Federal Regulations (as in effect on the date of enactment of this Act), by striking <quote>that was not certified</quote> and all that follows through <quote>compared to engine-out emissions</quote> and inserting <quote>must have that engine certified as meeting at least Tier 3 PM standards</quote>.</text>
 </subsection><subsection commented="no" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="id171d08e77479427889a29e879c9658e9"><enum>(b)</enum><header display-inline="yes-display-inline">Emissions and energy reliability study</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Not later than 1 year after the date of enactment of this Act, the Administrator of the Environmental Protection Agency, in consultation with the Secretary of Energy, shall submit to the Committee on Environment and Public Works of the Senate and the Committee on Energy and Commerce of the House of Representatives a report assessing options for the Federal Government to assist remote areas in the State of Alaska in meeting the energy needs of those areas in an affordable and reliable manner using—</text>
 <paragraph commented="no" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="id74BA4DD26B124969BDBEA27F36D308D4"><enum>(1)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">existing emissions control technology; or</text> </paragraph><paragraph commented="no" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="id131E2AA0D043480F970B6609EAD9111B"><enum>(2)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">other technology that achieves emissions reductions similar to the technology described in paragraph (1).</text></paragraph></subsection></section></legis-body><attestation><attestation-group><attestation-date chamber="Senate" date="20190520">Passed the Senate May 20, 2019.</attestation-date><attestor display="no"></attestor><role>Secretary</role></attestation-group></attestation><endorsement display="yes"></endorsement></bill>
