 <section id="H82AD09D98DF64173A6C92A349AB14AC8" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the <quote><short-title>Citizenship for Children of Military Members and Civil Servants Act</short-title></quote>.</text> </section><section id="H54234052519248C6A46C7EB5CEAD9A92" section-type="subsequent-section"><enum>2.</enum><header>Facilitating the automatic acquisition of citizenship for lawful permanent resident children of military and Federal Government personnel residing abroad</header> <subsection id="HF0C2C6257BF4406ABDFB2B6D526411BE"><enum>(a)</enum><header>In general</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Section 320 of the Immigration and Nationality Act (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/8/1431">8 U.S.C. 1431</external-xref>) is amended—</text>
 <paragraph id="HB96FF29D12F143E2B0925486B359DB8B"><enum>(1)</enum><text>by striking the section header and inserting <quote><header-in-text level="section" style="traditional">Children born outside the United States and lawfully admitted for permanent residence; conditions under which citizenship automatically acquired</header-in-text></quote>;<header-in-text level="section" style="traditional"></header-in-text></text>
 </paragraph><paragraph id="H1E186C11623C40F0BF0BCB1F98932D5C"><enum>(2)</enum><text>by redesignating subsection (c) as subsection (d); and</text> </paragraph><paragraph id="H795CCCDD07B745D68AE4D7AE9576E0C7"><enum>(3)</enum><text>by inserting after subsection (b) the following:</text>
					<quoted-block display-inline="no-display-inline" id="H9B0DB5D06B604B05B8149C5C4CC0A323" style="traditional">
 <subsection id="H0B10501A59BA4569979CF61081EA3B29"><enum>(c)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Subsection (a)(3) is deemed satisfied in the case of a child who is lawfully admitted for permanent residence in the United States if—</text>
 <paragraph id="H35C3A8753EE046929BC840E4FA2FF583"><enum>(1)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">the child is residing in the legal and physical custody of a citizen parent who is—</text> <subparagraph id="HFE6AEF973BD84097B452E68C494DF2B7"><enum>(A)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">stationed and residing abroad as an employee of the Government of the United States; or</text>
 </subparagraph><subparagraph id="H489BFB89BA5F44F68EA8B0FA9881F93D"><enum>(B)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">residing abroad in marital union with an employee of the Government of the United States who is stationed abroad; or</text>
 </subparagraph></paragraph><paragraph id="H2AAF1F705F5845C6A0718089F1EA3DE8"><enum>(2)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">the child is—</text> <subparagraph id="HE14C2C78871B4D5CA41732920CB574A8"><enum>(A)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">residing in the legal and physical custody of a citizen parent who is—</text>
 <clause id="HB51D538A041C47B594E48212B5AB518F"><enum>(i)</enum><text>stationed and residing abroad as a member of the Armed Forces of the United States; or</text> </clause><clause id="H037AF63B95FB437AABF37258979FA112"><enum>(ii)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">authorized to accompany and reside abroad with a member of the Armed Forces of the United States pursuant to the member’s official orders, and is so accompanying and residing abroad with the member in marital union; and</text>
 </clause></subparagraph><subparagraph id="HA85EC1F8DDF54703A23A6CFAE4476676"><enum>(B)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">authorized to accompany such member and reside abroad with the member pursuant to the member's official orders, and is so accompanying and residing with the member.</text></subparagraph></paragraph></subsection><after-quoted-block>.</after-quoted-block></quoted-block>
 </paragraph></subsection><subsection id="HDE01B1B1822B4CF18F7369EDD4841678"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Conforming amendment</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">The table of contents for the Immigration and Nationality Act is amended by striking the item relating to section 320 and inserting the following:</text>

						<toc-entry level="section">Sec. 320. Children born outside the United States and lawfully admitted for permanent residence;
			 conditions under which citizenship automatically acquired.</toc-entry></toc><after-quoted-block>.</after-quoted-block></quoted-block>
 </subsection></section><section id="H900E1E0CEA5045CABFFA74C5738BD3BF"><enum>3.</enum><header>Determination of budgetary effects</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">The budgetary effects of this Act, for the purpose of complying with the Statutory Pay-As-You-Go Act of 2010, shall be determined by reference to the latest statement titled <quote>Budgetary Effects of PAYGO Legislation</quote> for this Act, submitted for printing in the Congressional Record by the Chairman of the House Budget Committee, provided that such statement has been submitted prior to the vote on passage.</text>
