			 employ individuals charged with certain offenses, and for other purposes.</official-title></form>
	<legis-body id="H3078C932A7144986A8520E0D1C206493" style="OLC">
 <section id="H9B50381AC6EB42CEB3E8E2960C478205" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the <quote><short-title>VA Child Care Protection Act of 2019</short-title></quote>.</text> </section><section id="H9F8D189CBEF14FDA9775AA795A55F8B6"><enum>2.</enum><header>Requirements for child care providers receiving payment from Department of Veterans Affairs</header> <subsection display-inline="no-display-inline" id="HF38D8C866BB84D0FA05C15A0839A0E9E"><enum>(a)</enum><header>In general</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Subject to subsection (b), the Secretary of Veterans Affairs may not make a payment to any child care center, child care agency, or child care provider that employs an individual who has been charged with—</text>
 <paragraph id="H7CA39B8CA4BE41739770D2873A19D43D"><enum>(1)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">a sex offense;</text> </paragraph><paragraph display-inline="no-display-inline" id="HAB780902628B4DC184398E6EBF2F3B5A"><enum>(2)</enum><text>an offense involving a child victim;</text>
 </paragraph><paragraph id="H1B726A0DE9824E8BB1A55C43E94EABB2"><enum>(3)</enum><text>a violent crime;</text> </paragraph><paragraph id="H896FDFB0488446CE8B444CA5A2C37C8C"><enum>(4)</enum><text>a drug felony; or</text>
 </paragraph><paragraph id="H2B6ADC9427C74A2EB9B00154BD1C8A6D"><enum>(5)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">other offense that the Secretary determines appropriate.</text> </paragraph></subsection><subsection id="H3EB5BB8E26FC409FA5024B221A2BFAA3"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Exception</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Payment may be made to a child care center, child care agency, or child care provider, if such child care center, child care agency, or child care provider has suspended the individual described in subsection (a) from having any contact with children while on the job until the case is resolved.</text>
