Consequently, marsh loss, loss of public and private wetlands, and loss of agricultural lands are accelerating.</text></paragraph><after-quoted-block>; and</after-quoted-block></quoted-block></clause></subparagraph><subparagraph id="HFFD9272D0A7B4A4B8C1BFA22BAAE11F6"><enum>(B)</enum><text>in subsection (b), by striking <quote>the State of Maryland and the State of Louisiana</quote> and inserting <quote>any State that has demonstrated the need</quote>; and</text></subparagraph></paragraph><paragraph id="H959D912371854D43B80295164CF8E83A"><enum>(2)</enum><text>in section 3—</text><subparagraph id="H3821F4D57F2C4B479E51F1D9F82D09DA"><enum>(A)</enum><text>by amending subsection (a) to read as follows:</text><quoted-block id="H82467A13C39544BF8F9FA206A1E1B7B1" style="OLC" changed="added" reported-display-style="italic" committee-id="HII00"><subsection id="H9B6F2D232229466EB012B3CA3B8F286B"><enum>(a)</enum><header>Grant authority</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">The Secretary of the Interior (referred to in this Act as the <quote>Secretary</quote>), may provide financial assistance to a State, in an amount that is in proportion to the total impacted area of such State affected by nutria, that has demonstrated to the Secretary sufficient need for a program to implement measures to eradicate or control nutria and restore marshland, public and private wetlands, and agricultural lands damaged by nutria.</text></subsection><after-quoted-block>;</after-quoted-block></quoted-block></subparagraph><subparagraph id="H9AA822B958734D5FAF23C1C7D43F195E"><enum>(B)</enum><text>by striking subsection (b);</text></subparagraph><subparagraph id="HA3F72ED2DFE04D86920DAD70E10D3EBF" commented="no"><enum>(C)</enum><text>in subsection (d)—</text><clause id="H55B03410005D479489A892371E57F828" commented="no"><enum>(i)</enum><text>in paragraph (1), by striking <quote>the program may</quote> and inserting <quote>a State program referred to in subsection (a) may</quote>; and </text></clause><clause id="H17CB4189DA5C4C1498C1E66BFCAD4413" commented="no"><enum>(ii)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">in paragraph (2), by striking <quote>the program may</quote> and inserting <quote>a State program referred to in subsection (a) may</quote>; </text></clause></subparagraph><subparagraph id="H7CF9A377EE2341A39AED38958F12A539"><enum>(D)</enum><text>in subsection (e), by inserting <quote>to a State</quote> after <quote>provided</quote>; </text></subparagraph><subparagraph id="H2C4EB6F731964E8F8DED510706A978F7"><enum>(E)</enum><text>in subsection (f), by striking <quote>$4,000,000</quote> and all that follows and inserting <quote>$12,000,000 for each of fiscal years 2021 through 2025.</quote>; and</text></subparagraph><subparagraph id="HD100928AD66647ECAFF3E414E273A22B"><enum>(F)</enum><text>by redesignating subsections (c) through (f) as subsections (b) through (e).</text></subparagraph></paragraph></section></legis-body><endorsement display="yes"><action-date>February 25, 2020</action-date><action-desc>Reported with an amendment; committed to the Committee of the Whole House on the State of the Union and ordered to be printed</action-desc></endorsement></bill>
