		<section id="H7C3E349EE7E04751868F54A33E6851B9" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>West valley demonstration project</header>
 <subsection id="H29597801C6794139923E45DE3217A18E"><enum>(a)</enum><header>Reauthorization</header><text>Section 3(a) of the West Valley Demonstration Project Act (<external-xref legal-doc="public-law" parsable-cite="pl/96/368">Public Law 96–368</external-xref>; <external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/42/2021a">42 U.S.C. 2021a</external-xref> note) is amended by striking <quote>$5,000,000 for the fiscal year ending September 30, 1981</quote> and inserting <quote>$75,000,000 for each of fiscal years 2020 through 2026</quote>.</text>
 </subsection><subsection id="HA8EB653E82FE4A579F8389FCF8161A12"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Report</header><text>Not later than 18 months after the date of enactment of this Act, the Comptroller General shall submit to Congress a report that describes—</text>
 <paragraph id="HE189DC351D2C41BBB445C7DB57244F86"><enum>(1)</enum><text>the volumes, origins, and types of radioactive waste at the Western New York Service Center in West Valley, New York;</text>
 </paragraph><paragraph id="H5651BE25AB694EC2816CFAC51E981708"><enum>(2)</enum><text>what options have been identified for disposal of each such type of radioactive waste;</text> </paragraph><paragraph id="H87F93B5D1C6746868D56DF77F1E6A7AF"><enum>(3)</enum><text>what is known about the costs of, and timeframes for, each such option;</text>
 </paragraph><paragraph id="H411D2C40D847491E9897BA34564A119F"><enum>(4)</enum><text>the benefits and challenges of each such option, according to the State of New York and the Department of Energy; and</text>
 </paragraph><paragraph id="HE3B888C9E38D41E0A371E38B6CD21DD1"><enum>(5)</enum><text>as of the date of enactment of this Act—</text> <subparagraph id="HAF0B06578684401BBC333D913BCD4AC1"><enum>(A)</enum><text>how much has been spent on the disposal of radioactive waste associated with the demonstration project prescribed by section 2(a) of the West Valley Demonstration Project Act; and</text>
 </subparagraph><subparagraph id="H1660331561E14078B782C779F6435363"><enum>(B)</enum><text>what volumes and types of radioactive waste have been disposed of from the Western New York Service Center.</text>
